Come work with horses and lead trail rides at our Colorado guest ranch this summer!
Many guests come to Tarryall River Ranch excited for the chance to go horseback riding, but what they don't realize until they get here is that our wranglers are the heart and soul of the operation just as much as our horses are! Wranglers don't just hold the reins, they provide the instruction, expertise and humor that make each ride memorable. This summer we are looking for experienced individuals with a passion for people, horses and the outdoors to come and ensure that the equine program at TRR remains one of the highlights of our guests' visits.
*This is a seasonal (summer-early fall) position!*
*Minimum two years riding experience is required, inquire for more details*
Some of the responsibilities of a wrangler may include, but are not limited to:
- Providing daily care to all ranch animals
- Assisting in the rounding up and moving of cattle and horses
- Leading, assisting with the preparation for, or accompanying trail rides
- Interacting with guests to make sure each ride is safe, educational and fun
- Ensuring that the barn grounds, stalls and any areas where guests may have access are clean
- Maintaining pens, pastures and trails
- Performing all other duties as required
The job begins the week of May 18, 2020 and has a flexible August end date, depending on when and whether applicants need to return to school. Come help out in the kitchen at our Colorado guest ranch this summer!
When people visit a ranch, they're usually anticipating time outside, long horseback rides, and cozy cabins. But what they often forget is that the enjoyment of all of these activities often hinges on the meals that fuel them! Here at Tarryall River Ranch, our kitchen and dining room are truly the hub of all the action. Every day, guests and staff alike flock to Waypoint Lodge, where they can expect each meal to be delicious, nutritious, and filling! This summer we are looking for a prep cook who can assist our head chef in running our kitchen and continuing to make the meals at TRR one of the highlights of our guests' visits.
*This is a seasonal (summer) position!*
Some of the responsibilities of the prep cook may include, but are not limited to:
- Helping the head chef plan and prepare all meals
- Undertaking basic cooking duties such as cutting/chopping meats and vegetables, reducing sauces, preparing simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
-Ensuring all food and other items are stored properly
-Complying with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
-Performing other kitchen duties as directed
Depending COVID-19 restrictions, this job is scheduled to begin the week of May 18, 2020 and has a flexible August end date, depending on when and whether applicants need to return to school. Work weeks are typically around 60 hours long, with one day off per week.
The pay range for this position is $13.50-$15/hour plus tips. In addition to the pay, this position offers free room and board for the duration of the work period.View Job Description
