Taconnet on Great Pond dates back to 1881, when George F. Joyce began taking fellow Massachusetts teachers to the island for the summer.  Purchased by a group of twelve cabin owners in the 1970’s, the island resort has been welcoming owners and guest renters ever since. Summer days on the island are devoted to swimming, fishing, tennis, and enjoying sunsets, loons, and friends.
