Sweet Lorraine's is a high-quality fishing lodge with a small footprint. We are seeking a self-motivated individual to fill the position of Head Cook / Chef.
Our lodge can accommodate a maximum of 14 clients and normally we have an average of 8. We are not driven to fill the lodge every day and have an irregular work schedule as a result. During peak season we might work every day for up to two weeks and then find ourselves with blocks of free time to recreate. Meal preparation is limited to Breakfast and Dinner with all our clients being on the river during the day for their lunch - lunches are provided by the guide services. This allows for a block of time each day from approximately 9:00AM until 4:00PM to hike, bike, fish, paddle board or just relax. On days when Dave (Lorraine's better half) is not guiding on the river, he will prepare breakfast allowing a "sleep in" for the Chef - this normally happens 3 or 4 times per week.
The position is a salaried position ($3,500/month plus tips) and includes all meals and a private apartment with full kitchen and bath as well as cable television and internet access.
The head Cook/Chef will be responsible for preparing menus and meals assisting with post-meal cleanup of the kitchen as well as maintaining the pantry inventory and preparing shopping lists.
Our lodge is in the remote northeastern corner of Utah and is situated near the Flaming Gorge Reservoir, The Green River, and the High Uintah Mountains. If you get cabin fever and need a trip to town we are running for fresh vegetables and fruit at least once each week.
