At Stonewater Cove, great attention is paid to making the guest experience authentic, wholesome and inspiring. It is the responsibility of all staff to make the guest's vacation as smooth and memorable as possible by maintaining a friendly and comfortable environment throughout the property, guest and staff areas alike. Ideal candidates will have a passion for high-end service and guest satisfaction, with an equally strong work ethic suitable to this rugged wilderness setting. Teamwork is imperative, as different days and changing guests bring different challenges in maintaining such an intimate, family-like atmosphere. All staff must be professional and courteous, and must have a willingness to help each other whenever needed. Half an hour from the nearest small town, our 'family' operates with integrity and respect in this peaceful hidden Ozark Mountain escape.
We are currently looking for the following positions:
HOUSE STAFF(seasonal): Willingness to work in all departments, with a passion for luxury service, guest satisfaction, and a professional work ethic suitable to this wilderness setting. Must be flexible and fill in wherever needed, being comfortable in a ‘floating’ hospitality role. House Staff will be servers, dishwashers, kitchen help, housekeepers, guides, grounds crew, and general labor as required by management.
PASTRY / PREP COOK(seasonal): Aiding the Chefs in all kitchen activities, maintaining a clean and friendly workplace. Breakfast and pastry/dessert experience preferred with multiple cooking styles and ability to manage special food requests. The kitchen is a small operation and we're looking for someone to help the chefs in all areas to maintain a clean and friendly environment in the kitchen at all times.
ACTIVITIES / BOAT GUIDE (seasonal): Lead guest groups in activities such as ATV rides, Boating(with water-sports), Zip Lines, and Challenge Courses. Boating experience and license required for all boating operations. An ideal candidate will have experience driving ATVs and boats. Must be adventurous and at home in the outdoors; eager to take guests out for an afternoon boat ride or a trek through the forest trails on the machines.
MAINTENANCE MANAGER / CARETAKER (year-round): Responsible for managing maintenance crew in general upkeep of all resort areas and equipment; i.e. interiors and exteriors, paths and roadways, landscaping and water-features, pool and docks, and any other general labor needed. Must be flexible and hands-on in working with the maintenance crew. This is not an office job, but it will entail some office duties such as handling all the paperwork for the maintenance department. Basic skill sets with respect to small equipment carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and landscaping/grounds necessary. Experience operating heavy equipment preferred. This is a career opportunity and the right candidate may be provided private on-site housing as part of the arrangement.
HOUSEKEEPER (seasonal): Must be detail oriented and able to work at a fast pace in a rugged environment. All guest rooms and facilities are situated along the wooded mountainside with lots of steps and pathways to walk in between, and all areas must be kept clean and free of debris both indoors and out. There is 1 main laundry facility with satellite storage rooms in each building.
SERVER / BARTENDER-MIXOLOGIST (seasonal): Responsible for preparing guests beverage orders and making sure they receive all meals in a timely and accurate manner. Must be an energetic and enthusiastic person with a genuine love for people, and must exhibit superior customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and a high level of professionalism. Help in all aspects of F&B department, including maintaining a clean and presentable lodge and kitchen in addition to guest meal services. Very low volume bar operation with a major emphasis on beverage knowledge and craft cocktail experiences for our guests, including pairings and tastings.
While most opportunities are seasonal positions, we're hoping to find the right people that for the team that want to continue with us year-after-year. Our 2020 season will start at the end of April and will run through the first weekend of November. Compensation will be based on experience and paid every 2 weeks. Employee housing is included with employment free of charge, subject to a standard living agreement. There is a semi-private staff building that has 14 individual rooms with queen beds and 6 private bathrooms, 2 large common areas with wi-fi, satellite TV and DVD players, laundry facilities, and a large connecting kitchen. Full Board is not included with this offer; however, individual full-size refrigerators are in each room and there are fully-stocked community staff kitchens for staff. Due to shared housing, pets will not be allowed for seasonal employees.
Successful employees will pride themselves on exceeding service expectations and put 100% into their work, but be equally happy in enjoying 100% of their time off. Those who become easily bored by the extremely remote location will likely not enjoy this unique opportunity to live and work in the middle of the wilderness.
