  • Activities Attendant

    Base Area Activities
    Steamboat Springs, Colorado

    Come work at the longest mountain coaster in North America-The Outlaw, and all the other activities Steamboat Ski & Resort has to offer including: the climbing wall, mini golf, trampoline, bounce house, and of course-summer tubing!  All applicants must be at least 16 years of age and able to lift up to 70 lbs. in all weather.

    Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:
    • Operate the Activities while open
    • Inspect and set up all activities equipment and structures prior to opening
    • Ticket and line management, scan tickets and control line flow, while communicating with guests
    • Properly harness and go over safety briefings with guests
    • Talk to guests and help with any questions
    • Close and store all equipment properly
    • Maintain a clean area around the activities
    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements.
    • Attend team meetings as required
    • Other duties as assigned
    Minimum skills, experience, and education for this job:
    • Must have excellent guest service skills and experience in guest service field helpful
    • Adhere to all safety policies
    • Must adhere to company policies and procedures
    • Previous experience with activities (i.e. mountain coaster, bungee trampoline, climbing wall, ropes course, etc.) a plus
    • Must have basic computer skills for operation of hand held ticket scanning devices
    • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company’s Service Excellence standards
    Physical Requirements:      
    • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
    • Lift 50 to 70 lbs. and perform moderate to strenuous physical activity with lots of lifting, twisting, and turning
    • Must work outside in all weather conditions (heat, snow, cold, sun, and inclement weather conditions) 
    • Communicate clearly in English; communicate safety procedures clearly and effectively
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, be comfortable at heights; walk track of Mountain Coaster and climb Climbing Wall as needed. Physically capable of balancing on the trampoline while operating the bungee jump
    • Must have good hand/eye coordination
    Miscellaneous Information:
    • This is an hourly paid position subject to overtime pay
    • Position is required to work weekends and holidays as needed (5 days a week)

    Seasoned cooks and interested folks are needed in the back of the houses at the fine restaurants of the Steamboat Ski & Resort, Co.! Applicants will be considered for all Food and Beverage locations based on need, skills, experience and ability as necessary. Employment location will be established during the interview process.

    • Prepares various foods under supervision for restaurants 
    • Maintain high pace while prepping for a high-volume restaurant and other functions
    • Prep foods for all menus for outlets and all specialty menus
    • Complete daily prep lists
    • Organize work area to create efficiency and keep work area and kitchen organized and clean
    • Rotate product and keep a clean station 
    • Properly store food in correct and allotted areas
    • Assist in the cleaning and organizing of all storage areas
    • Clean and/or organize walk in refrigerators and freezers, as assigned
    • Ensure compliance with established health and safety procedures
    • Report all observations of damaged/ dangerous equipment
    • Will attend food safety/sanitation training and practice those techniques
    • Takes direction from: Chefs, Sous Chefs, and outlet managers

  • Kids' Adventure Camp Counselor

    We are looking for experienced childcare counselors who want to make the Summer of 2018 the best one yet!  Must have 500 formal documented hours working with kids 3-12 years with valid CPR/First Aid and Red Cross certifications required.

    • Responsible for guiding a group of children through daily camp activities including sports, arts, teaching outdoor education and teambuilding
    • Responsible for leading activities in all weather, including inclemen
    • Responsible for creating programming as needed to keep children active and engaged
    • Care of children range in age from 3 years to 12 years
    • Responsible for all discipline and safety of children throughout the various activities
    • Must be a high energy, fun loving, active individual

    Minimum skills, experience, education and ability required for this job:
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • 500 hours formal documented experience working with children ages 3 - 12 required, with previous camp experience preferred.  Must provide letters of proof if hired.
    • Valid CPR/First-aid certification required
    • Valid Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required
    • May be willing to obtain CDL license, which will result in random drug testing
    • 3 letters of recommendation required
    • Early elementary, recreation, physical education college education preferred
    • Experience teaching outdoor or environmental education preferred

    If you are looking for a summer position where you can hone your customer service skills and sharpen your computer skills, Retail is looking for Sales Associates!  Must have previous cash handling experience and basic math skills.  Will need to work independently and alone in the store.

    • Provide exceptional guest service and address guest service needs and guide them with regard to their options for purchases

    • The sign install crew will be responsible for removing all existing winter trail signs and posts.  Transporting and installing new post and trail signs. Hiking, digging, lifting, staining wood will be daily task.
    • Work with wood, synthetics, steel, and plastic materials
    • Work with construction materials and tools such as hammer, pliers w/ side-cutters, saws, utility knife, tape measure, locking pliers, crescent wrench, screwdriver, shovel or light heavy equipment
    • Assist with assembly and installation of mountain winter trail signs and materials pertinent to the projects
    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    Minimum skills, experience, education and ability required for this job:

    • High school graduate or GED
    • Must be minimum of 18 years of age
    • Must have one year construction experience
    • Operating a vehicle could be a function of this position and will require the successful applicant to meet the minimum requirements of the Intrawest Driver’s Standards Policy that includes possessing a valid Driver's License and meet insurability standards
    • Medic First-Aid preferred
    • Good work ethic and work history

    • Walk on uneven often rugged terrain, outdoors in mountainous terrain, in extreme hot or cold inclement weather

    • Safey operate saws, other small tools
    • Work in a high degree of strenuous activity
    • Job dangers include: heavy equipment (posi-track with auger) operating in mountain environment, lifting objects above head, hiking, climbing ladders, building signs, working in adverse weather, animals in the forest
