The Training and Development Coordinator will be tasked with creating an atmosphere where employees feel welcome and leave with the most positive impression of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp and the HR Department. This position will also assist the HR office in all administrative tasks.

Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:
• Assess, develop, and design resort training materials including: workbooks, videos, etc.
• Prepare and coordinate yearly company-wide orientations training under the guidance of the HR Manager
• Oversee coordination and scheduling of training dates, locations, and times for department orientations 
• Serve all functions within the HR office as coverage necessitates including but not limited to paperwork and data entry, recruiting, benefits, payroll and filing
• Develop and deliver all New Hire Orientations at least three days per week
• Track training in Excel and Ultipro programs
• Coordinate all assessments, scheduling, and follow-up evaluation of all corporate training - this includes, but is not limited to, management skills training and OSHA & Safety training
• Create a positive atmosphere in training sessions; an atmosphere where employees feel welcome and leave with the most positive impression of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation and the HR Department
• Provide employees, supervisors, and managers with current and relevant training information by consulting various training sources, HR systems, and personnel files
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
• Other duties, as assigned

Minimum skills, experience, education and ability required for this job:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• At least two years training experience required
• At least one year of administrative experience in a high-paced office environment required
• Must have excellent public speaking skills
• Highly organized and able to work in a busy and sometimes stressful environment
• Professional appearance and proper office and phone etiquette
• Strong knowledge/ability with programs including: Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Desktop publishing
• Must interact, model, and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with SSRC’s Service Excellence standards
• Problem-solve in a highly effective manner and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff, including management, subordinates and co-workers 

Physical Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must speak and write clearly and professionally in English
• Must sit and operate keyboard for long periods of time as well as walk, climb up/down stairs 
• Must lift 25 lbs. (office supplies, paper, occasional furniture or furnishings)
• Must ski/snowboard at intermediate level preferred; will possibly ski/snowboard to department location

• Employment for this job is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check
• Position is to work Monday thru Friday April – Mid November and Tuesday thru Saturday mid-November to March
