  • Guest Services Supervisor

    Lodging Operations
    Steamboat Springs, Colorado

    The Steamboat Grand, the largest hotel and conference area in Steamboat Springs, is looking for a Guest Services Supervisor. Apply online today!
    • Coach, motivate and lead in all areas of Front Desk and Concierge operations for optimal guest service 
    • Exemplify excellence as a leader for the Guest Services Department and foster group cohesion among staff 
    • Demonstrate the ability to work under stressful situations while maintaining outstanding customer relations
    • Consistently present and reinforce a professional appearance and positive attitude 
    • Resolve customer issues and guest requests in an efficient and timely manner
    • Monitor and review agent tasks, projects and performance on a daily basis for increased efficiency and effectiveness 
    • Manage time, establish priorities, and delegate tasks to meet goals and objectives of the Guest Services department 
    • Responsible for scheduling all Guest Services employees on a weekly basis, monitoring Vacation/time off schedules, and regulating overtime hours appropriately 
    • Enter and sign-off payroll appropriately, including agent incentives and commissions
    • Effectively communicate new and/or changing procedures & policies with staff in verbally, written and during meetings 
    • Attend meetings in absence of Guest Services Manager and strengthen communications with other hotel departments 
    • Oversee the wholesaler and internal reservations process including inventory management for straight-line availability
    • Answer incoming sales calls and perform Front Desk tasks as necessary
    • Responsible for weekly projects/reports as assigned 
    • Assist Guest Services Manager in the areas of hiring/interviews, establishing employee expectations, conducting employee reviews and performance improvement plans
    • Direct and monitor all Product Maintenance tasks in SMS, and Inntopia applications, including rates, packages, discounts, groups and other projects as assigned by the Revenue Manager
    • Assist with training programs that are consistent and successful in improving overall employee morale and motivation
    • Individual should be professional and well versed in impeccable customer service 
    • College degree is preferred 
    • Background in some type of hospitality or customer service is required 
    • Knowledge of Springer Miller PMS system and Inntopia applications is preferred 
    • Previous supervisory skills and reservation sales experience is a plus
    • Clearly speak and comprehend the English language
    • May need to lift office supplies and packages up to 40 lbs.
    • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
    • Shifts to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and sometimes graveyard MOD or Night Audit duties 
    • This is an hourly paid position and is subject to overtime.

  • Lift Operator

    Lift Operations

    As part of the Lift Operations staff, you will be involved in a number of aspects of our mountain operations. This position is very important to the overall operation of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation as you will be heavily involved in the safe transportation of guests up to our 2,965 skiable acres.     Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:
    • Guest service – greeting, welcoming, and providing information to our guests (verbally, message boards, grooming reports, weather, conditions, etc.)
    • Efficient and safe operation of the lifts 
    • Appearance at the lift areas (maintenance of the lift houses, snow on the ramps and in the maze, employee appearance, trash removal)
    • Knowledge of assigned lift(s) machinery (control system, braking system, auxiliary unit)
    • Inspections of the lifts and areas
    • Complete required log sheets daily and other documents as needed
    • Slowing & stopping the lift to avoid an accident or event of an emergency until supervisor can be reached
    • Control and organize guests in the maze
    • Refuse transportation to individuals without tickets or intoxicated
    • Slow or stop lift for adverse weather conditions
    • Be familiar with special mountain events
    • Specific knowledge and safe operation of assigned lift(s) machinery (control system, braking system, auxiliary unit)
    • Knowledge of emergency plans; evacuation, fire, lift incident, lightning, unexplained stops, serious injuries, etc.)

    Minimum skills, experience, education and ability required for this job:
    • Must be minimum 18 years of age
    • GED or High School Diploma required
    • Must be authorized to work in the US or have a valid work permit
    • The skill to complete snow grooming, much like landscaping
    • Deal with conflict and difficult situations in a busy environment

    Physical Requirements:

    • Perform back and forth twisting motion required to load chairs or gondola cabins
    • Must be comfortable lifting up to 30 lbs. on a daily basis
    • Ski or snowboard experience is helpful but not required

    Entry-level cooks needed! No experience necessary. Must bring the willingness to learn. Applicants will be considered for all Food and Beverage locations based on need, skills, experience and ability as necessary. Additionally, applicants must be able to ski/snowboard at an intermediate level to/from certain restaurant locations. Employee location will be established during the interview process. A post job offer, pre-employment on-snow ski/snowboard assessment is required for positions at Rendezvous Saddle and Four Points Lodge.  Wages start at $13/hr.

    • Prepares various foods under supervision for restaurants 
    • Maintain high pace while prepping for a high-volume restaurant and other functions
    • Prep foods for all menus for outlets and all specialty menus
    • Complete daily prep lists
    • Organize work area to create efficiency and keep work area and kitchen organized and clean
    • Rotate product and keep a clean station. Properly store food in correct and allotted areas
    • Assist in the cleaning and organizing of all storage areas
    • Clean and/or organize walk in refrigerators and freezers, as assigned
    • Ensure compliance with established health and safety procedures
    • Report all observations of damaged/ dangerous equipment
    • Will attend food safety/sanitation training and practice those techniques
    • Takes direction from: Chefs, Sous Chefs, Cook 4’s and outlet managers

    Responsible for input and updating of all groups in Springer Miller Systems, Delphi and Inntopia. 
    Act as a liaison between the Grand Sales Department and the Grand Reservations Department
    Build group guest tiles & city ledgers, build group rates and set up group Routing
    Assist Group Sales agents with inventory and rate Informationr
    Relay Group information and changes to the Reservations Staff    
    Handle customer service issues relating to groups
    Handle rooming list requests for groups
    Assist with communication to groups regarding deposits, attrition, and room block                         
    Answer phones and make reservations for Groups                                      
    Assist with FIT Reservations                                                                                                 
    Maintain and update group files                                                                                 
    Assist with billing questions for the hotel accounting department
    Ability to work with multiple departments throughout the hotel as needed
    Other duties as assigned       
    Minimum skills:
    High School Diploma or equivalent
    Superior computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    Previous resort or hotel experience and knowledge of hotel room inventory is preferred
    Prior reservation experience is required (Minimum 2 years of prior experience)
    Knowledge of the Steamboat Springs and the Ski Area is preferred
    Ability to work as a team with the reservations and sales departments
    Springer Miller Systems, Delphi and Inntopia knowledge is a plus

    Multi-talented persons needed! Rental/retail hybrids will be asked to perform two or more main duties within their assigned shop including cashiering, ski and binding fitting and/or retail sales.     • Responsible for covering at least two of the four job classifications for the rental and retail department including cashiering, rental ski and binding fitting, demo ski and binding fitting and sales, and/or retail soft goods sales 
    • Binding adjustments are performed using standard hand tools and binding testing machine
    • The shops can be fast paced; candidate must have ability to switch roles often within a single shift
    • Specific product training will be provided, candidate will be required to consistently retain and relay product information to customer, including safety information pertaining to rental equipment
    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    Minimum skills, experience, and education required for this job:

    • Cash handling experience preferred
