We are seeking a motivated person with handyman-type experience to help maintain our somewhat complex and funky remote Alaska systems and vehicles. Possible duties include, but are not limited to (depends on experience and need):
- Upkeep of water, electrical, waste, propane and other systems (all off-grid), including small engine troubleshooting and repair
- General maintenance of and improvements to buildings and other structures
- Basic vehicle maintenance and repair for 15 vehicles of various ages and conditions
This is an opportunity to live in an extremely interesting Alaska bush town and be instrumental in the upkeep of a 35 person mountain and river guiding company.
Our maintenance work generally takes approximately 25 hours per week, so this job can either be part-time, with lots of time off to explore the surrounding mountains, or a person with the right experience and skills can also be trained to work part-time as glacier hiking guides and/or historical tour leaders for full time work.
