Our season opening date is May 17 and the last evening of operation is October 19, 2019. Beginning April  through opening, job start dates and training schedules vary upon the position for which you are applying. May and early June are ramping up months, and mid September through closing are our ramping down months. We gear up for high season which is the last week of June through Labor Day weekend, and we hire on additional team members.

  • Working Executive Chef

    Kitchen
    Boothbay Harbor, Maine

    The Spruce Point Inn Resort and Spa is now seeking applicants for a seasonal Working Executive Chef!

    We are looking for a Chef experienced in overseeing the operation of a high-volume catering operation and a kitchen serving multiple menus and meal periods. Must have proven success in providing training to food service personnel to reduce the risk of food-borne illness.

    Food Service Experience… Able to demonstrate knowledge of food safety and foodborne disease prevention.

    Company Standards… Ability to follow operating standards as outlined in the Kitchen Standards Operating Procedure Manual.

    Performance Management, Supervisory… Demonstrate ability to relate to, communicate with, and motivate a diverse staff to sustain high performance and quality levels.

    • Develops and implements menu and dining strategies which are aligned with the hotel’s targeted market position
    • ¨ Keeps current with local competition; adjusts menu periodically to create a “point of difference” in the marketplace
    • ¨ Researches customer preferences and develops a menu which incorporates local foods and flavors in a luxury dining experience
    • ¨ Seeks out sources for fresh food; monitors all produce and meat for freshness
    • ¨ Tailors menu based on product availability; creates distinctive daily specials that incorporate seasonal or special order ingredients
    • ¨ Maintains product consistency by conducting inspections of seasonings, portion and appearance of food
    • ¨ Coordinates service with restaurant and banquet operations and manages the facility including satellite operations
    • ¨ Oversees the inventory, purchasing and disbursement of all supplies
