Sportsman’s Oak Island Lodge is a fishing resort that accommodates up to 70 guests offering lodging, a restaurant, bar, and guided fishing services during the summer and winter, 9 months of the year. We have been accommodating guests for over 70 years. If you love the outdoors and exploring awesome places around the world, be sure to check us out for a season or beyond.
We are located at the very top of Minnesota at the Northwest Angle of Minnesota, 40 miles north of Baudette, Mn on the legendary Lake of the Woods.

About Sportsman's Oak Island Lodge
Do you love the outdoors and working in the resort atmosphere? If so, Sportsman's Oak Island Lodge is the place for you! We are located in a unique location at the Top of the Nation, Oak Island, Minnesota on Lake of the Woods. The northernmost point in the contiguous United States. If you enjoy working with a family-owned business and putting smiles on people's faces by making their stay memorable then consider working with us. We offer room, board, and transportation from the south shore (Wheeler's Point 12 miles North of Baudette, MN) or the Northwest Angle to the Island. Great pay and tips too!
The Employee Experience
The island life is busy, fun, and relaxing. The island is home to 4 resorts, several private cabins, and a few year-round residents. We are looking for temporary full-time staff to join us to finish out our season now through mid to late October with an option to come back for the winter season. We hold up to 70 guests for lodging and have a restaurant and bar open to the public. An average week has 4-5 busy days and 2-3 slower days. We offer positions 40+ hours per week. We have had many staff attend online school while working with us and save money with no groceries or rent to pay. Many of our staff enjoy the incredible fishing, the outdoors that surrounds us, a break from the city life, and our family-like atmosphere. We value our staff and the experience they bring.
Ideal Candidate
A team player who enjoys working with people and is up for an adventure and trying out new things. Experience is always helpful but are happy to train you as well. The ideal candidate enjoys meeting new people and has a positive attitude.
Room and Board
Room and board are included with our positions, with no additional fee. We have multiple different cabins and rooms for staff to stay in. Housing is furnished. We have some shared housing and some private. We include all meals. No pets are allowed.

In your downtime, your welcome to use the kayaks. The island is home to miles of trails to explore. Plan on bringing a boat or hire a guide to experience incredible fishing and explore amazing places from the Lake of the Woods app guide. The island is also a great place for reading, doing online school work, meeting new people (staff from local resorts to hang out with and of course meeting customers from around the world) , enjoying nearby beaches, working on hobbies, enjoying nature, going out for dinner at local resorts and more. UPS, Fed Ex and USPS deliver to the island.
Getting Here and Getting Around
We can arrange pickup at Wheeler's Point/Baudette, MN, or Young's Bay at Angle Inlet, MN, and get you to the island. Have a few days off and want to get off the island? Boat services available or bring your own boat, boat fees may apply.
