Attention Business and Hospitality Majors, we are now accepting applications for the 2019 summer season (typically May to August, start dates are flexible depending on school schedules).  The Internship at Spokane Creek Cabins & Campground is now offering a Management Trainee Internship.  This is a level 2 business program which will focus on critical thinking, strategic decision making, 1, 3 & 5-year planning models, ROI analysis, P & L and Balance Sheet understanding, conducting a productive meeting, interviewing skills, negotiation tools and of course people management training.  This is a unique program for college seniors majoring in business and/or hospitality with previous internship experience or for previous Spokane Creek interns or graduated students in the business/hospitality major who want to distinguish themselves from the crowd.  There is very limited availability for this internship.   Due to housing constraints, we are only accepting female applicants, as we have dorm type housing.  

We are located 11 miles from Mt. Rushmore and 1 mile from Custer State Park in the Black Hills of South Dakota.  If you enjoy the outdoors you will love the Black Hills, where the wildlife, hiking & scenery are spectacular!

The Internship at Spokane Creek offers an outstanding opportunity to work in a busy, family oriented hospitality environment.  We are a full-service facility with 19 cabins, 60 RV & tent sites, café, coffee shop, and home to the Iron Mountain Road Visitor Center & Store.  You will be trained and work in multiple areas of the business which include office, retail sales, café, reservations, housekeeping, and grounds.  Also, as part of your summer experience, you will be taught a full array of business fundamentals not covered in your college classroom.

Compensation is $9.00 an hour plus housing – plus one meal per day, you provide additional food.  Housing is dorm style with access to kitchen and laundry facilities.  Benefits include working in one of the most beautiful areas in the country, VIP passes for free admission to most area attractions, discounts in the store & café, free laundry and wifi.

This is an excellent opportunity for students in the Business or Hospitality field to gain real-world experience and learn business fundamentals from business professionals with more than 60 years of combined business experience.  This program will definitely help position you for your future and may apply toward college hours, check with your school to find out.
