Southeast Exposure has been family owned and operated in Ketchikan, Alaska since 1986! We are three generations of Alaskans with a passion for the outdoors and leading quality experiences in our backyard.
Take the opportunity to join our fun hardworking family. Our guides are confident trained leaders that enjoy leading groups of new people on once in a lifetime memorable experiences. Guides are strong and athletic and work though the beautiful southeast Alaska summer rain or shine.
We do all kayak tours, bike, and zipline course training in house. We require you to arrive with an eight-hour certification in Advanced First Aid and CPR at minimum and experience in guiding or teaching in at least one area. Guides participate in an intensive one week in house training for all tours. We have many returning guides each year, a good number of them are Ketchikan locals.
Our trips range from 3 hrs to 4 ½ hours for the guest. At the height of the season, guides work 2-3 trips per day back to back, spending 2-2 ¼ hours with each group. The season is from May 1 - September 26.
Guides own their own outdoor appropriate personal apparel such as shoes and clothing and perhaps camping gear for the frequent opportunity to adventure and explore our backyard on or off the clock. CPR and First Aid certification required. Rooms and yurts available for rent on 3 of our properties (community living with shared kitchens and living spaces). Guide complete 40 hours of paid in house training and orientation.
