    River Ranch Resort & Spa is looking for experienced Hiker/Guide that can safely and knowledgeably guide guests thru local routes.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    • Tour guides lead groups of visitors through points of historical, cultural or regional interest.
    • Provide in-depth knowledge about destinations frequented by tourists, vacationers and students.
    • Booking guest adventures and creating itineraries. 

    REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:  

    • CPR, medical, and wilderness survival training with active certifications is a plus. 
    • Ideal candidate is knowledgeable about the area or has visited and spent time in/or around Moab.
    • Experience in guiding individuals and groups is required.
    • Knowledge of safe operation of off-road vehicles.
    • We encourage our guides to focus on interpreting geography, local history, Native American history, and flora and fauna.

  • Team Lead Experience Guide

    TEAM LEAD ADVENTURE GUIDE

    Sorrel River Ranch is a Four Diamond luxury guest ranch located along the scenic Colorado River surrounded by 2,000-foot high cliffs, buttes and mesas. This exclusive 240-acre riverside oasis is 17 miles from Moab, 21 miles from Arches National Park and 43 miles from Canyonlands National Park. Employment includes housing on a first-come, first hired basis ranging from $80 per pay period to $350 pp.

    TEAM LEAD ADVENTURE SUPERVISOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Team Leader responsible for scheduling and managing 4-8 other adventure guides.
    • Manage and approve timeclock hours for direct report employees.
    • Responsible for making purchases of equipment needed by the department.
    • Responsible for coordinating with department.
    • Oversee the proper maintenance cleaning of adventure vehicles.
    • Responsible for interviewing and working with HR to hire qualified candidates.

    TEAM LEAD REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • All successful candidates should have proven driving and computer skills with solid guest service experience as well. 
    • Ideal candidates will have extensive knowledge and experience with off-road safety and guiding.
    • Must be safety conscious and possess the ability to instruct guests.
    • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • First aid and CPR certification is a plus and will be required.
    • Must be willing to learn the local area and the other amenities offered by the resort.
    • Must supply your own uniform.

    We are looking for a full-time Baker to assist in the day to day operations. Only experienced Bakers need apply. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of a new concept and assist in developing the baking program for the entire Ranch. 

    • ​​​​​​To assist in delivering high quality bakery and pastry products
    • To monitor all costs and recommend measures to control them.  
    • To ensure that the Department Operational Budget is strictly adhered to.
    • To monitor all cost and recommend / institute measures to control them.
    • To assign responsibilities to subordinates and to check their performance periodically.
    • Ensures that all bakery pastry preparation and presentation and kitchen sanitation practices meet with our standards and state guidelines.
    • To conduct frequent walk through inspections together with the Director of the Food & Beverage and Executive Chef.
    • To be available and on duty during peak periods (frequently opening and closing the operation).
    • To spend time in the outlets (during peak periods) to ensure quality presentation of bakery and pastry products to meet all expectations
    • To ensure that Bakery and Pastry team project a warm, professional and welcome image.
    • To establish a rapport with guests maintaining good customer relationship
    • To ensure that all Kitchen forms and reports are forwarded on time to the Food & Beverage Office.
    • To ensure accurate maintenance of recipes, conversion recipes, and product specifications.
    • To keep Food & Beverage employees up to date with seasonally available products and new products on the market.
    • To attend weekly Food & Beverage Meeting.
    • To ensure that all meetings are well planned, efficient and result oriented.
    • To ensure that deadlines on all projects are met.
    • To prepare weekly work schedules in accordance with workload and priorities for the approval by the Executive Chef.
    • To ensure the smooth operation of the Bakery Pastry Department
    • To conduct yearly performance appraisal and give employees regular feedback on their job performance.
    • To identify and develop young talents within the organization for future potential growth within the group
    • To undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.
    • To carry out monthly, quarterly, bi-yearly, yearly inventory of operating equipment.


    Other Duties:          

    • To ensure that all employees provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.

    Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Line Cook demonstrates and helps maintain high standards that consistently exceed the expectations of guests. Assist in controlling the resources,  the processes and cultivate the understanding of good food throughout the resort.

    REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:  

    • Basic kitchen equipment operation: stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, fryers, steamers, kettles, etc.
    • Understanding of recipe measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes. 
    • Minimum of 3 months minimum of experience required in fine dining or upscale restaurant.
    • Culinary or Apprenticeship program preferred.
    • Working knowledge of the fundamentals of food preparation and cooking.
    • Working knowledge on accepted standards of sanitation.
    • Ability to work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail; ability to multi-task.
    • Must have good supervisory skills.
    • Must have good communication with cooks and front of house.
    • Must be skilled in time management.
    • Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional service.
    • Full time flexible hours are required (able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays).

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Reports to work on time and is on the prep station as indicated on the work schedule. Uniform meets restaurant requirements and is maintained and clean. Practices positive personal hygiene and cleanliness habits during all work shifts.
    • Prepare food items, preparation equipment, small wares, plate ware, food ingredients, garnishes and supply items needed for effective operation of the station. Reports any problems or discrepancies to Sous Chef/Chef on a timely basis.
    • Assists other kitchen personnel in food preparation and side work according to prep lists. Preps all food product according to the standards and procedures.
    • Preps all food to ensure that all items are prepared according to company specifications, recipes, procedures, plate presentation and quality standards. Ensures our guests have a superior dining experience by correctly prepping food products.
    • Maintains the highest degree of sanitation, cleanliness and food safety for work area to include prep tables, counter tops, refrigeration units, floors, walls and shelving.
    • Accomplishes all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift. Immediately reports any unsafe condition or unsafe act, accidents and/or injuries to the Sous Chef/Chef.
    • Supports other Back-of-House positions as needed, providing a seamless Guest experience to all Guests.
    • Correctly completes all station closing duties at the end of each shift. Assists Chef and other kitchen team members in accomplishing closing duties and kitchen cleanliness.
    • Additional duties as assigned.


    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able to lift, handle, and carry food, small wares, equipment, supplies and paper goods at a minimum of 50 pounds
    • Must be able to constantly stand and exert well-paced mobility for a period up to eight hours in length
    • Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, reach and squat on a frequent basis to receive and store stock, supplies and equipment as well as to work the line during service periods
    • Must be able to communicate effectively and listen attentively to supervisors, employees, vendors and guests
    • Must be able to taste – to be able to distinguish between and among flavors, spices, temperatures, mouth feel and smell – to distinguish between and among odors and scents as to their appeal and level of intensity for all food and beverage products
    • Must be able to work in an environment subject to extreme cold (30 degrees), heat (temperatures above 100 degrees), loud noises from restaurant equipment and machinery, and fumes, odors, dust and smoke
    • The use of cut gloves as that is a company requirement for all BOH personnel for safety of our staff.
    • Maintains good grooming habit


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum 1 year experience as a prep cook in a full service, fine dining upscale, table cloth or casual dining restaurant preferred
    • Experience with fresh products preferred
    • Must be able to communicate effectively and listen attentively to supervisors, other team members, vendors and guests
    • Position may require work on nights, weekends, and holidays

    Sous Chef Resort DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    • Prepare a wide variety of foods including up scale food to go and desserts following traditional and modern recipes
    • Create new and exciting items to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers
    • Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting
    • Monitor stocks for cooking and baking ingredients and make appropriate orders within budget
    • Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
    • Guide and motivate retail staff on food items to work more efficiently
    • Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel

    Sous Chef Resort REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:  

    • Proven experience as Sous and or Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role

    • Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
    • Load and unload dishwashing machines
    • Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots)
    • Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
    • Set up workstations before meal prep begins
