About The Snowpine Lodge

Alta is famed for its outstanding terrain, snow quality, stunning mountain views, storied history, and amazing community. Known locally as “Alta Magic”, guests and employees alike come back year after year because there really is something special up here that is hard to pin down in words. Join our team and come find out for yourself!

The Snowpine Lodge is home to the oldest standing structure in Alta; originally known simply as the Rock Shelter. That stone building was used to house the 10th Mountain Division while training for mountain warfare during World War II. Now, we have incorporated that original stone into our brand-new building, which opened in January of 2019.

The Employee Experience

As a family-owned business, we operate with a family-focused mentality. After all, it doesn’t take too long to feel like family when working and living together every day. With staff programming and parties throughout the year, we do our best to make everyone feel at home.

The skiing is what brought each of us to Alta, and we hope to share our passion for the mountains with you. While work comes first, we do our best to ensure that work schedules allow for ample ski time in the winter.

Many of our employees return season after season, and now that we are open all year, we have some opportunities for staff to stay on year-round.

Ideal Candidate

Our top priority is providing an excellent and personal customer service experience for our guests. We are looking for candidates who are friendly, professional, warm, accommodating, and who would never hesitate to go above and beyond to make sure our guests are having the best vacation possible. While it is not required, we prefer if you have previous hotel experience. If you have a passion for customer service, skiing powder, and living in the mountains please apply today!

Room and Board

We have employee housing available on a limited basis for our core staff. Employees who live in the lodge share dorm style accommodations, enjoy three meals a day and have ski-in/ski-out access directly from our employee lounge. $150 is deducted from each paycheck to cover room and board expenses. In addition to the three meals we provide each day, all staff have 24/7 access to the employee cafeteria. This cafeteria is always stocked with snacks and food items. We also provide on-site ski storage for all of our employees.

Employee Perks

  • Great food
  • Ski time almost every day
  • Ski-in, ski-out employee locker room
  • Discounts on gear, ski tunes, etc. from our in-house ski shop and through online forums
  • Discounts in our spa and restaurant
  • Pool and Hot Tub access during non-peak hours
  • Free yoga classes (when space is available)

Getting Here and Getting Around

Just 45 minutes away from the Salt Lake International Airport, it is easy to access the lodge no matter where you are coming from. We are happy to help you arrange a shuttle from the airport if you would like. Alta is a very small town and, once you arrive, it is easy to get around on foot (or skis).

Due to heavy snowfall, frequent road closures, limited parking, and unpredictable winter driving conditions, we don’t recommend bringing your car. If you do drive to Utah, please be advised that driving up Little Cottonwood Canyon can be challenging. Every vehicle accessing the canyon from November through May is required to either be equipped with chains or have four-wheel drive with snow tires. Free town parking is available, but limited, and each vehicle owner is responsible for snow removal within 12 hours of a major snowstorm.
