The Snowpine Lodge is currently hiring for many positions across all departments for our 2019 Summer Season. Employment begins mid-May and lasts through early October. Some year-round positions are available. 

  • Dishwasher/Utility

    Kitchen
    $12.00 / hour

    Alta’s newest luxury lodge is hiring a live-in dishwasher/utility position. Join the Snowpine team and enjoy working at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon the home to over 500 inches of snow annually. If you have a passion for cleanliness, organization and skiing powder please send us your resume.

    On site housing is shared among employees in rooms that accommodate 3 to 4 individuals. Each room has its own bathroom and is furnished with bunk beds and dressers. Employees also enjoy a shared living space with couches and a TV, as well as 24/7 access to the employee cafeteria. In addition to rooming, employees are provided three meals a day and an Alta ski pass. Room and board is deducted bi-weekly at a cost of $150. There is an additional deduction of $100 per paycheck to act as a deposit on the Alta seasons pass. At the successful completion of employment, the employee will be reimbursed for the cost of their Alta seasons pass.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Setting up, cleaning, and organizing of dish station

    • Ensuring dish sanitizer maintains an appropriate temperature and functionality

    • Working with the rest of the kitchen staff to prioritize dishes and get them cleaned, sanitized, dried, and put away in a timely manner

    • Maintaining organization of kitchen and prep spaces by always placing clean dishes back in the appropriate location

    • Sweeping and mopping of dish area at the end of each shift

    • Assisting cooks in basic food prep or helping other team members when needed

    • May be asked to help with other lodge duties, such as snow removal 

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment

    • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

    • Physical endurance to stand for entire shift

    • Self-motivated and self-directed

    • Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks

    • Previous experience preferred 

    • Legally able to work in establishments which serve alcohol

    • Able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends

    • Able to bend, move, and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Bell Staff

    $10.00 / hour + tips

    Alta’s newest luxury lodge is hiring Bell Staff positions. Join the Snowpine team and enjoy working at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon; home to over 500 inches of snow annually. If you have a passion for customer service and skiing powder, please send us your resume!

    The function of our Bell Staff is to work closely with the Front Desk staff, Management and other hotel departments in providing guest assistance with luggage, valet, ski valet, transportation and miscellaneous needs. The Bell Staff are often the first and last person a guest will see during their stay, so a commitment to providing the highest level of guest service is key.

    This is a live-out position. No housing is provided. 

    Responsibilities

    • Welcome all hotel guests in a friendly and professional manner
    • Assist guests with their luggage
    • Deliver guest luggage to guest rooms
    • Safely operate the courtesy shuttle
    • Safely and efficiently park guest vehicles, maintain key inventory
    • Shovel snow around the entire lodge property to ensure entrances and exits are clear, guest and lodge vehicles are accessible, and other snow removal projects as necessary
    • Communicate clearly with other hotel staff to ensure current status of guest rooms, delivery of guest luggage, execution of guest requests, and to streamline guest service between departments
    • Rotate between lodge locations, working in all bell staff departments: bell desk, valet, ski valet, and shuttle driving
    • Assist with setup and breakdown of special events: moving furniture, setting up chairs, etc
    • Complete routine building inspections and help with basic building maintenance and upkeep
    • Stay up-to-date on current weather and skiing conditions
    • All employees may be called upon to help with snow removal, lodge upkeep, and guest assistance at any time
    • All employees are expected to meet The Snowpine Lodge personal appearance and uniform standards

    Prerequisites

    • An energetic, outgoing, and friendly personality with a warm, people-oriented demeanor
    • Team player with a desire to support both guests and staff members and exceed team and guest expectations
    • Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 75lbs
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to multitask and work independently
    • Ability to react and remain calm in an emergency situation
    • Ability to manage priorities and time efficiently
    • 1+ years luxury hotel bell/valet experience preferred
    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record required
    • Ability to drive a wide range of vehicles, including manual transmission vehicles

  • Maintenance Technician

    Maintenance
    $12.00 / hour

    Description

    Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician performs duties to ensure the hotel is maintained in acceptable operating condition. Maintenance Technician completes a daily checklist of tasks while attending to maintenance emergencies, accepting deliveries, performing snow removal and other tasks around the property.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain the guest rooms, public spaces, and back of the house hotel areas in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and landscaping.
    • Clean and maintain the pool and spa areas.
    • Conducts maintenance and safety inspections as needed and ensures timely follow-up to required improvements.
    • Cross-train and work effectively with housekeeping as occupancy and staffing levels require.
    • Operate snow removal and landscaping equipment (shovel, snowblower, Bobcat skid-steer, mower, etc) in a safe and effective manner.
    • Responds to Fire Life Safety system alarm notifications on property.
    • Completes additional duties/tasks as assigned by the Supervisor

    Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

  • Houseperson

    $14.00 / hour + tips

    Description

    Under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, the Houseperson performs cleaning duties to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive hotel common spaces. The Houseperson completes a daily checklist of common area cleaning and assists housekeepers as necessary to complete cleaning hotel rooms in a timely manner.

    This is a live-out position. No housing is provided. 

    Responsibilities

    • Cleaning of hotel common spaces including but not limited to hallways, public bathrooms, front of house common areas as well as back of house employee areas. Including wiping counter tops, dusting furniture, vacuuming, scrubbing toilets, showers, sinks, kitchens, and floors. Cleaning mirrors and emptying trash as well as maintaining the cleanliness of the pool and hot tub areas.
    • Picks up spills, litter, and other items as necessary to maintain cleanliness of all common spaces and back of house areas.
    • Delivers special items to guest rooms.
    • Sorting, washing and folding linen.
    • Deep cleaning of guest rooms and common areas as needed.
    • Maintaining and cleaning housekeeping closets and stocking of room attendant carts.
    • Various other duties assigned by the assistant housekeeping manager/supervisor.

    Prerequisites

    • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Night Auditor

    $12.00 / hour

    Description

    Alta’s newest luxury lodge is hiring full and part-time Night Auditors. Join the Snowpine team and enjoy working at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, the home to over 500 inches of snow annually. We are looking for hardworking folks who can navigate a variety of computer programs, crunch numbers, and provide excellent customer service to our guests. These positions require self-motivated individuals who are able to work independently with little assistance in performing basic front desk tasks such as checking guests in and out, reconciling accounts, communicating with housekeeping, and responding to guest needs.

    These are live-out positions for the winter season. No housing is provided. 

    Responsibilities

    • Welcome hotel guests between the hours of 10:30 PM and 6:30 AM.
    • Register and process guests at check-in and check-out
    • Audit and balance reports from the day shift, run all EOD computer functions
    • Verify that all EOD work has been completed by other departments
    • Post guest and room charges, record receipts and maintain guest folios
    • Prepare guest bills for next day departures
    • Arrange wake-up calls and other guest services as needed
    • Accommodate guest requests
    • Perform nightly inspections of the lodge property
    • Assist in resolving any guest conflicts, call Resident Manager as needed
    • Stay up-to-date on weather conditions
    • Assist with executing interlodge protocol
    • As a member of the Front Desk staff, the Night Auditor is expected to perform a variety of tasks, such as: answering lodge phone, maintaining a clean and organized front desk area, promoting hotel services, programming guest key cards, and more
    • Communicating any incidents or pertinent information with the morning manager is key
    • Perform all tasks in a professional, efficient, and friendly manner
    • All employees are expected to meet The Snowpine Lodge personal appearance and uniform standards

     

    Prerequisites

    • 1+ years hotel night auditing experience preferred
    • Experience working with a Property Management System preferred
    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Proven outstanding customer service
    • Ability to multitask and work independently
    • Ability to react and remain calm in an emergency situation
