Spend a Summer in the Colorado High Country!
Silver Cliff Ranch is a Christian Retreat and Conference center working with Church Youth Groups and Families as a rental facility. We strive to provide opportunities for our guests to enjoy the mountain surroundings while learning to help each other and grow in their understanding of Who created them and how their life fits into His plan.
Silver Cliff Ranch is located 90 miles west of Colorado Springs and 120 miles southwest of Denver. Silver Cliff sets at the base of Mt. Princeton, one of many 14,000 foot peaks in our area, and is nestled beneath the chalk cliffs. Chalk Creek winds its way down the valley, running along the edge of the property.
About Silver Cliff Ranch
Silver Cliff sets at 8500 feet in altitude. We have a natural hot springs swimming pool. The spring that feeds the pool is the hottest spring in Colorado. It comes out of the ground at 187 degrees. The Ute Indians frequently visited the spring viewing it as a medicine water.
We are in the midst of much mountain wildlife. Mule deer have made the property their home as well. Occasionally a black bear can be seen wandering through the property searching for any food that might be available. We have sightings of the red fox in the evenings and can hear the coyotes as they search for food.
Our cabins are named after mining terms, such as Pick ' Shovel, Gold Rush, Tin Cup, and Sluice Box. Much of the area above us was part of gold and silver mining in the middle and late 1800's. Silver Cliff was a stagecoach stop for the stage running to St. Elmo, an old mining town, now a ghost town that can be viewed and explored with other remains from mining claims.
The Employee Experience
Our summer staff comes from all around the country. Their time here develops many lasting friendships. Each summer we usually have a few kids from countries outside the US. They enjoy working on their English and sharing their culture and lifestyle. They will even help cook a meal that represents their country and what they are accustomed to eating at home.
The staff enjoy having fun together but also enjoy having time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Willing to work and interact with people, laugh, and enjoy the great outdoors!
Room and Board
Food and Lodging are provided. All you need is your toothbrush and teddy bear.
Each summer our staff is trained in First Aid & CPR. Your laundry will be done for you each week. We will take a trip whitewater rafting in Browns Canyon.
