Silver Bay Seafoods is an integrated processor of frozen, headed and gutted wild salmon, sac, roe, and herring for domestic and export markets.
Silver Bay operates five processing plants in Alaska. These facilities are located in Sitka, Craig, Valdez, Naknek and Metlakatla, Alaska.

About Silver Bay Seafoods
Silver Bay’s primary strength is its state of the art processing plants located in Naknek, Sitka, Craig, Metlakatla, and Valdez, Alaska. Our advantageous logistics paired with competent management and key personnel has streamlined the process and produced record-high numbers of processed product. With our established fish buying system, our product is responsibly caught by its fishermen. Uniquely, Silver Bay is owned by its fishermen, representing over 70% of the committed fishing effort, supplying quality product to be processed and distributed.
Ideal candidates must be able to work constantly with their hands, practice safe heavy-lifting, and stand for long periods of time – up to 16 hours per day. They must be able to tolerate a fast working pace in order to meet production deadlines and have good stamina for long hours in wet and cold work environments. The ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety rules is paramount and must also tolerate the sight and handling of fish “guts.”
Room and Board
Herring Seasons - No charge for room and board
Naknek Salmon Season - No charge for room and board
Sitka, Craig, Valdez & Metlakatla Salmon - Room and board: $10/day
You will reside in the company bunkhouse and will share a room with several fellow employees. Meals are provided in the company cafeteria.

Getting Here and Getting Around
Silver Bay Seafoods will provide employee airfare from Seattle/Anchorage to the job site. Upon successful completion of the season, Silver Bay Seafoods will also provide prepaid airfare back to Seattle/Anchorage.
Getting around can be difficult when you do not have a car; however, there are local taxi services you may use which makes short-distance trips very easy and inexpensive.
