About Signal Mountain Lodge
Signal Mountain Lodge is nestled into the shores of Jackson Lake in Grand Teton National Park in the northwest corner of Wyoming. We are a privately-owned company with ample opportunity for the seasonal worker that operates visitor services under a concession agreement with the National Park Service. Our seasonal operation includes guest lodging, two restaurants, a bar, retail shops, maintenance department, a marina and a campground. We also operate Leek’s Marina & Pizzeria, which is 10 miles north of our main location, and Lizard Creek Campground, which is 7 miles north of Leek's.
Here at SML, we're highly focused on the environmental preservation of Grand Teton National Park and our planet. In 1990, a staff-led initiative to recycle aluminum cans at Signal Mountain Lodge took shape and became the spark that lead to the "greening" of our operations. You could say the rest is history. We were the first National Park concessionaire (and business west of the Mississippi) to become Green Seal Certified and are 3-Star Certified by the Green Restaurant Association - we even compost! We aim to provide a safe, healthy, comfortable and fulfilling environment for our staff so that they are able do their best at work as well as maximize their opportunities to explore while off the clock. In that spirit, we offer clean, modern housing with experienced dorm managers to make sure everything stays ship-shape, plenty of delicious food, and two scheduled days off every week.
WORK HARD, PLAY HARD
Our summer season runs from early May until mid-October. Applicants with the longest dates of availability are given first consideration, but we also offer opportunities for those with limited availability. We look for applicants with experience in retail, food services, and the hotel industry, but a genuine and enthusiastic desire to work with the public may also get you top consideration in our hiring process. We expect all applicants to possess a willingness to work hard and provide the very best guest service to all visitors.
In addition to seeking candidates that are guest-oriented, we look for those that are community-oriented as well. Here at Signal Mountain Lodge, there is very little separation between work and home. Your fellow staff members will quickly become your closest companions while on and off the clock. For this reason, it's imperative that our staff be flexible, communicative, emotionally mature, and able to solve interpersonal problems effectively. It's also important that our staff are able and motivated to take time for themselves when needed.

Room and Board
HOUSING AND MEALS ARE PROVIDED FOR EVERY POSITION
Our modern college-style staff dormitories are clean, comfortable and only a 5-minute walk from work! Normally, each staff member will share a dorm room and private bathroom with one other person, although the opportunity to room with two other people at a reduced housing rate may be available. Single-occupancy housing is available only for department managers. We also have a limited number of employee RV spots. Laundry facilities are provided free of charge. No pets are allowed in the dormitories.
Quality is of the highest priority when it comes to the food our staff eat. You can expect a menu and recipes that are constantly changing, fresh and local ingredients whenever possible, and an Employee Dining Room (EDR) staff that aim to please! Located just a 5-minute walk from the staff housing area, the EDR serves three hot meals per day and offers self-serve snacks and beverages in between mealtimes. Lunch and dinner are always accompanied by a fully-stocked salad and sandwich bar. We offer a vegetarian option with every meal and try our best to cater to specific dietary needs. Sack lunches are available for off-property adventures at no extra cost and there is a refrigerator and microwave for staff use.
Double-occupancy Room: $95.00 per person, per week
Triple-occupancy Room: $67.00 per person, per week
RV Spaces: $67.00 per person, per week at SML, $19.00 per person, per week at Lizard Creek Campground (Lizard Creek is a remote location and the rate does not include regular meals.)
Room and board charges are taken as a payroll deduction every other Friday.

Getting Here and Getting Around
About 40% of our staff get here via plane, bus, or some combination thereof...
PLANE: The nearest airport, Jackson Hole (JAC), is located inside the park about 30 minutes from Signal Mountain Lodge. We are happy to pick you up at the Jackson Hole Airport if you notify us in advance. This is the most convenient option if you don't have your own car, but it can be expensive as it's a small, regional airport. Past staff have found it's cheaper to fly into Salt Lake City and then catch a bus to Jackson. Keep in mind, this option makes for longer travel time.
BUS: There are two shuttle bus companies that serve the town of Jackson: The Salt Lake Express (www.saltlakeexpress.com) and Mountain States Express (www.mountainstatesexpress.com). Both originate in Salt Lake City. The fare from SLC to Jackson is usually between $75 and $80. If you're taking a Greyhound, you can transfer to the Salt Lake Express in Idaho Falls, ID. There are drop-off locations at the Jackson Hole Airport as well as at the Albertsons grocery store and Maverick gas station in Jackson. We are happy to pick you up at any of these locations as well - with notice, of course.
CAR: About 60% of our staff bring their own vehicles. We have parking for employee vehicles in the staff housing area, though spaces are often limited.
Once you're here, you don't need a vehicle on a day-to-day basis. The staff dorms are just a 5-minute walk from most of the guest services and work areas as well as from the EDR. However, exploring the area and going adventuring is certainly easier to do when you have your own transportation. That being said, most without cars have found it pretty easy to get a ride when they need one. Staff that do bring personal vehicles and are usually more than happy to have those without a vehicle of their own as passengers!
