About Shoshone Lodge & Guest Ranch
Shoshone Lodge and Guest Ranch is located in a stunning mountain setting just three miles from the East entrance of Yellowstone. We offer horseback riding, a full service restaurant and cozy log cabins. We are within walking distance of Grinnell Creek and the Shoshone River.
The Employee Experience
Ours is a fairly relaxed atmosphere. We expect employees to work hard and do a good job while on duty, but we also want employees to take the time to enjoy the activities available at the ranch and surrounding area. Most of our employees make the most of their downtime throughout the day and their days off, enjoying riding, hiking, fishing, etc... We are a fairly small staff of about 20 which allows us to get to know each other well, making for a fun family atmosphere.
We prefer to hire self-motivated people that can stay on task without constant supervision. We like to see people work well and get the job done while enjoying the experience and their coworkers. We do not like to micro-manage our staff and prefer to hire individuals that do not require us to do so.
Room and Board
Room and board is included at no charge. Most of the rooms are shared with one other roommate, and most bathrooms are shared with one or two other people. All meals are provided including meals on your days off. We also allow employees use of the phones and access to wifi.
Everyone has ample time to enjoy all that Yellowstone Park and Cody, Wyoming have to offer. Our staff is allowed to ride horses in their free time as long as there is already a ride going out and the wranglers have extra horses available. We provide Wifi for our employees as well.
Getting Here and Getting Around
We offer onsite housing so it isn't necessary to bring a vehicle although we do encourage it. Yellowstone National Park is near us and the nearest town, Cody, Wyoming, is 46 miles away so many employees enjoy the freedom of having their own vehicle in order to enjoy the surrounding area on their days off.
We are happy to make arrangements for employees who do not have transportation to get to the ranch. Often employees are happy to carpool with each other on their days off so that those without transportation can still get out and enjoy the area with their coworkers. There is no public transportation in the area as we are fairly remote.
Other great perks are Blue Ribbon trout streams (The Shoshone River and Grinnell Creek) within footsteps from your door, free wilderness horseback riding on the property, countless peaks to climb and hike, & staff tickets to the Cody Nite Rodeo. We also work with area rafting companies and other outdoor adventure vendors for discounted employee trips.
