  • VEHICLE MECHANIC- Full Time Year Round

    POSITION SUMMARY:  Maintains Schweitzer vehicles

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintains and repairs buses, heavy trucks, heavy equipment, pickup trucks, over-snow vehicles (groomers, snow mobiles, maintenance vehicles, snow cat/ambulance). Writes own work orders, may order parts for repair. Repairs heavy equipment or calls company service representative; completes periodic maintenance on machinery including oil changes, service checkups.  May weld machinery parts; may be required to assist other departments such as lift maintenance or building maintenance as needed.  Strong welding and fabricating skills required. Commercial Driver’s License preferred.

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:      

    SKILLS:  Advanced mechanical, welding and fabrication skills. Welding certification is a plus.

    LICENSE NEEDED: Valid driver’s license insurable by New Schweitzer, LLC. Must have own tools.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Required to complete paperwork for up to ½ hour per day, work up to 7.5 hours of combined standing/walking duties. Will lift 10lbs continuously, up to 75lbs occasionally, and up to 100lbs twice weekly. Assistance is available. Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level frequently, will slide under equipment on a creeper.  Will use hands for simple grasping, push/pulling and fine manipulation. Pushing/pulling up to 75lbs. 70% inside and 30% outside, shop is heated. Exposed to all temperature levels, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases and poor ventilation at times. Hazards are mechanical, electrical, burns, explosives and chemicals used in cleaning. Protective clothing is required for specific jobs. All sensory skills needed.    

     

    MACHINES/TOOLS OPERATED: Air wrenches, hoists, welding equipment, grinders, solvent tanks, groomers, snow vehicles and all mechanic hand tools.

  • SPECIAL EVENTS MANAGER- Full Time Year Round

    POSITION SUMMARY: Develop, organize, implement and evaluate all on mountain events. Solicit and fulfill event sponsorships. Manage NASTAR Race Venue.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS:

    Organize Events: Work internally and externally to coordinate components of all events. This includes preliminary and ongoing risk assessment (liability and budget) communication with other departments and off-site entities. Contract bands, sound technicians, lighting technicians and other contractors as necessary to fulfill events. Work with vendors for summer festivals.

    Events Sponsorships: Identity, solicit and collect event sponsorships: fulfill sponsorship agreements

    Implement Event Plans: Responsible for: staffing, event safety, timing coordination, crowd control, host areas, grooming requests and communication with on-mountain departments. Make certain of proper equipment inventory and availability.

    Event Evaluation: Debrief each event with key parties and review P and Ls to determine event viability.

    Event Design: Research trends, identify areas of need and develop plans for new events within the financial and value parameters of Schweitzer. Continually monitor safety, financial accountability and animation factors of events. Bring creativity and freshness to events.

    NASTAR Public Racing: Plan, budget and execute all facets of the NASTAR public racing program. Hire, manage, and schedule staff. Provide safe racing environment. Oversee course setting, timing and results tabulation/distribution.

     

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and maintain relationships with all other departments on the mountain, local businesses and sponsors/alliances.     JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

    SKILLS: Highly efficient and effective organizational skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective guest relations and employee relation skills. Able to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external organizations. Accomplished Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and graphic understanding required. Accomplished skier or snowboarder, mountain bike experience. Basic electronics (sound equipment and power). Understanding of professional alcohol service and the ability to understand tasting notes. Able to produce accountable P and Ls for each event.

    EDUCATION: Post-secondary education with demonstrated certificate or degree. 4 year degree in related outdoor recreation preferred.

    EXPERIENCE: 5 years outdoor recreation working experience including 3 years supervisory. Race and event logistics understanding. Experience with competition organization and results tabulation. 5 years of experience documented in logistic and staff supervision. Documented Microsoft Office expertise.

    LICENSE NEEDED: Valid Drivers License insurable by Schweitzer.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Skiing/ boarding carrying heavy loads (up to 50lbs.) Shoveling snow. Exposure to outdoor elements. Ski/ board any snow surface condition. Vision and long distance hearing are necessary to complete tasks. Able to stand or sit for long periods in both cold and hot temperatures.

  • Housekeeper

    POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for cleaning and preparing lodge rooms and condo units for occupancy in a manner that ensures guests clean, attractive and secure accommodations. Attention to detail is very important. Must be willing to work most weekend and holidays.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance, adhering to Schweitzer's dress code. Clean and prepare accommodations for occupancy through proper application of company specified cleaning procedures. Stock and maintain housekeeping carts and linen closets with products in required quantities to satisfactorily clean assigned rooms. Complete the Room Attendant Daily Report, correctly identifying the status of each assigned room and reporting any maintenance problems or product shortage. Maintain security for guests and lodge/condo units by keeping all doors locked at all times.

     

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Lodge Lead-person, Condo Lead-person assistant manager Housekeeping Manager. Knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and activities is a must. Calling in to miss a shift must be done prior to 8 am of a shift you won’t be making. NO show policy if you miss a shift without calling twice this is considered a no show two or more no shows will result in loss off position.

  • Marketing Content Coordinator

    POSITION SUMMARY: Seeking outgoing person with a passion for winter sports and Schweitzer. Position will assist in a diverse range of duties including, but not limited to, videography (filming and editing), photography, social media, website management, snow reporting, public relations, event assistance and outreach. Provide fresh and changing content through a variety of channels.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Coordinates, films and edits video content across a variety of platforms including (but not limited to) web, social media, OTT and broadcast TV. Video projects also include internal stoke videos, promotional pieces, etc. Content Coordinator will assist the Marketing Manager in management, posting and monitoring of all social media channels. Will also assist in shooting and editing Schweitzer photography assets. Other duties include assistance on website management (internal CMS), snow reporting and other marketing duties as necessary.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to lift 20 lbs or more. Standing for extended periods of time. Strong skiing and/or snowboarding skills in all conditions. Willing to be outside in all weather conditions including adverse, severe winter weather.

  • Lift Maintenance Electrician

    POSITION SUMMARY:  Supports the Lift Maintenance Manager and Mountain Operations Director with overseeing the electrical maintenance, design and troubleshooting of all ski lifts.  Plans, directs and coordinates lift electrical functions by performing the following duties.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Responsible for maintaining lift and other mountain electrical systems including chairlift control and drive systems, distribution centers, transformers, power, lighting and heaters.  Executing scheduled annual, monthly, weekly and daily maintenance on chairlift electrical and mechanical equipment.  Maintain, repair and assist with lift electrical equipment by completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions and performing training to operators.  Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operations; listening form problems; and checking for issues.  Responding to and determining cause of lift electrical problems with public on board and implementing solutions by repairing or correcting Lift Operator error, explaining problem and solution to operator.  Response and correction to be completed as quickly and safely as possible with the public’s safety, and your own safety being the highest priority.  Implementing and ensuring compliance with all Company and State safety policies and procedures.

     

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have or develop extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and operations. Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve company goals. Will work with regulatory agencies, insurers, and contractors as necessary.  Will represent Schweitzer at regional/national industry events as necessary.     JOB SPECIFICATIONS:                  

    SKILLS:                     

    Must be able to read electrical schematics and understand symbols and many different manufacturer schematic layouts.  Must maintain OSHA requirements, as well as the National Electric Codes.  Must be able to use test equipment to troubleshoot all types of electrical systems.  Must be able to climb chairlift towers wearing a fall protection harness, while carrying tools, to troubleshoot/repair equipment and electrical issues at heights up to 70 feet while chairlift is running.  Must have working knowledge of electrical and electronic control/sensor devices and their functions, testing and installation.  Must be able to operate a snowmobile, with public on mountain safely and resp0nd to stopped lift issues quickly and efficiently in all types of snow conditions.

    EDUCATION:           

    High School Diploma.  2 years Technical School preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:          

    5 years lift electrical and maintenance experience required. Working knowledge of all types of electrical equipment including AC motors and motor control.  AC variable speed drives, DC motors, DC variable speed drives, battery powered low voltage 24VDC controls.  Familiarity with analog, digital and PLC controls interfacing low and high voltage systems to operate ski lifts and snowmaking systems.  Troubleshooting skills using electrical testing equipment to diagnose problems.  Knowledge of ski lift electrical operation and controls.  Familiarity with National Electrical Code and Idaho Ski Safety statutes and ANSII B.77 code.    

    LICENSES:               

    Valid, insurable driver’s license. Prefer NDT and other job-relevant certifications.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Worksite is 30% inside and 70% outside, exposed to all temperatures and moisture conditions. Will work in a standing/walking position for up to seven hours.  Work day will vary between 8-10 hours, longer during emergencies. Will lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and up to 50 lbs frequently. Will bend, squat, climb, twist and reach above shoulder level frequently. Will use hands for grasping, pushing/pulling and fine manipulation in repair of machinery.     POSITION SUMMARY: Security and guest service for Schweitzer and contract facilities.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS: Maintains security for Schweitzer property. Make rounds of buildings and property, both on foot and in company vehicles. Fill out reports. Responsible for road patrol (working with accidents/guest assistance); pull out vehicles with chain, winch, or rope or push vehicles out by hand. May shuttle guests between Schweitzer properties or minor injuries into town. Carries cellular phone and two-way radio; will phone or radio call for assistance if necessary; will walk through buildings; may be asked to do bouncer duty at functions. Fills out log sheet on activities of shift. May also be asked to help locate missing hikers and bikers during summer session. May be asked to transport locked deposit bags from one location on mountain to another. May be asked to work day shifts. Other duties as assigned by Director of Public Safety.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Can vary physical activity for comfort. Position requires a 4-hour sitting and 4-hour standing/walking ability; or combinations thereof and will lift up to 50 lbs occasionally up to 2 hours per shift. Will bend, squat, kneel and twist on an occasional basis; will climb and reach above shoulder level on a rare basis; will use hands for grasping, pushing/pulling, fine manipulation. Foot controls operated for company vehicles; all sensory skills needed. Work site is 50% inside and 50% outside; exposed to all temperature and moisture conditions.     POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for cleaning Selkirk & White Pine Lodge public areas lazier building and employee work areas. Stock swimming pool towels, clean up garbage, empty and clean trash receptacles, and help in snow/ice removal from lodge and pool walkways. Responsible for escorting incoming lodge guests to their rooms, assisting them with luggage, and offering pertinent information. Responsible for cleaning/preparing linen supply for lodge rooms and condo unit occupancy in a manner that ensures quest clean and attractive accommodations. Driving a golf cart/side by side to assist guest with luggage and checking in

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance, adhering to Schweitzer's dress code. Clean/prepare public areas including the greater lobby area, public bathrooms, pool area, conference room(s), storage rooms, hallways and stairwells, elevators, guest laundry, in-building parking area, front walkway area, glass, and restaurants as needed to ensure guests a clean, attractive environment. Recognize and greet guests, extending warmth and hospitality; respond appropriately to guest requests. Explain features of the guestroom, such as operation of the radio, TV, night clock, and how to place telephone calls. Deliver messages, wine, etc., and run errands as required. Transport guests about the premises. Maintain security for guests and hotel by following all security and safety regulations. Deliver processed linens to housekeeping storage rooms, stocking them in a neat and orderly manner. Assist the front desk with guest requests or needs.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance, adhering to departmental dress code. Recognize and greet guests, extending warmth and hospitality; respond appropriately to guest requests by having thorough knowledge of local facilities, points of interest and entertainment attractions. Work closely with the Front Desk and Housekeeping departments to ensure a quality guest experience from arrival to departure.

  • Night Auditor

    POSITION SUMMARY: Conducts all night audit functions and accounting measures associated with the Night Audit Process. Works overnight shift on Lodging Front Desk, maintains all aspects of service & tasks required of the front desk position. This position requires a full background check.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Determines the days postings to accounts are accurate and in agreement with the supporting records. Compiles all requested reports and forwards to appropriate personnel. Closes and compiles all cashier drops for the day. Reconciles and closes daily credit card accounts and transactions. Extracts and exports .csv files to create and analyze MS Excel spreadsheets and reports. Analyzes accounting information to streamline inter-department operations and acts as a liaison between the accounting and lodging departments. Internet and computer savvy. Acts as a guest services agent and meets all guest requests presented during shift.     POSITION SUMMARY: Perform sales and customer sales related to guest registration, processing reservations and revenue collections in a manner that will ensure that Schweitzer guests receive a secure place to stay with friendly and attentive services.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Recognize, greet and extend warmth and hospitality to guests. Respond appropriately to information requests and complaints. Effectively use suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms, encourage advance reservations and promote other resort activities such as restaurants, gift shops and other resort marketing programs. Operate the front desk office equipment such as the switchboard, computer, and calculator. Process and control room reservations. Accurately and efficiently collect revenues from room rentals and other purchases. Provide security for guests by controlling room keys, verifying cash banks, making safe cash drops, preparing cash reports, following credit card verification procedures. Complete paperwork necessary for front desk operation. Perform other tasks assigned by hotel management. This Shift will include a variance of shifts including am/pm weekends and holidays.

    POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for cleaning/preparing linen supply for lodge room and condo unit occupancy in a manner that ensures guests clean and attractive accommodations.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance, adhering to Schweitzer's dress code. Operate laundry processing equipment at a level of proficiency resulting in acceptable cleanliness and supply of linen. Deliver processed linens to housekeeping storage rooms, stocking them in a neat and orderly manner. Regularly clean laundry processing equipment and laundry work areas.

     

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager, i.e., vacuuming hallways, cleaning public or employee restrooms, washing windows, cleaning guest accommodations (lodge or condo), and training other employees. Maintain security for guests and hotel by following all security and safety regulations, i.e., cleaning work areas, removing all linen from dryers and turning off equipment at the end of the work day, etc. Knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and activities is a must.
