  • Housekeeper

    POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for cleaning and preparing lodge rooms and condo units for occupancy in a manner that ensures guests clean, attractive and secure accommodations. Attention to detail is very important. Must be willing to work most weekend and holidays.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance, adhering to Schweitzer's dress code. Clean and prepare accommodations for occupancy through proper application of company specified cleaning procedures. Stock and maintain housekeeping carts and linen closets with products in required quantities to satisfactorily clean assigned rooms. Complete the Room Attendant Daily Report, correctly identifying the status of each assigned room and reporting any maintenance problems or product shortage. Maintain security for guests and lodge/condo units by keeping all doors locked at all times.

     

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Lodge Lead-person, Condo Lead-person assistant manager Housekeeping Manager. Knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and activities is a must. Calling in to miss a shift must be done prior to 8 am of a shift you won’t be making. NO show policy if you miss a shift without calling twice this is considered a no show two or more no shows will result in loss off position.

  • Housekeeping Manager

    SUPERVISED BY: Lodging Operations Manager, Director of Lodging Operations

     

    POSITION SUMMARY: The Housekeeping Manager oversees the housekeeping team and is responsible for planning, organizing, and developing of the overall operation of the housekeeping department to a high standard of cleanliness. This is a leadership position that requires the ability to promote teamwork and provide inspiration while working within broadly defined guidelines.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance, adhering to Schweitzer's dress code. Lead the housekeeping team in cleaning/preparing accommodations for occupancy through proper application of company specified cleaning procedures. Inspect rooms and public spaces to maintain a high standard of cleanliness. Clean hotel rooms, condos, and public spaces with the staff as needed.

    Supervise overall daily operations of the housekeeping and houseperson teams in all Schweitzer Lodging properties, organize lists and tasks to be performed by day and night staff, meet goals and objectives as defined by the budget and business plan, hire, train and schedule staff, inventory, and order supplies, and manage payroll and time edits for staff. Hire, train, reward, and coach staff on an ongoing basis. Conduct performance evaluations of all staff members regularly

    Attention to detail is very important.

    Must be prepared to work as lobby porter or bell person as needed.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Lodging facilities and activities. Regular attendance in conformance with Schweitzers standards is essential to the successful performance of this position. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry; managers typically work varying days and times (including evenings/nights) to reflect the business needs of the resort. This includes working almost all in-season weekends, holidays, and any other high occupancy periods. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required

    SKILLS: Good communication skills, both written and oral. Basic computer software and systems skills. Must have knowledge of cleaning equipment and processes. Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of business and personnel operations. Must have the ability to handle several projects at the same time and work with minimal supervision.

  • Non-CDL Shuttle Bus Driver

    POSITION TYPE: Seasonal/Part time

    SUPERVISORY: No SUPERVISED BY: Transportation Manager

     

    POSITION SUMMARY: This is a part time position. CDL is not required. Transport guests to and from the resort village and parking areas. Responsible for the safe, timely and courteous operation of the transit vehicle(s) assigned to him/her and for daily maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle(s) and equipment in her (his) charge. He or she will be asked to work weekends and holidays and special events

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS: Conduct thorough pre-trip inspection of assigned vehicle and report any maintenance issues. Rectify any simple maintenance problems as they appear, i.e., filling fluids, fuel, tire pressure, light bulbs, etc. Accurately fill-in and file pre-trip inspection forms and ridership logs. Maintain a safe, courteous, and friendly atmosphere on the bus. Know and keep to transit schedule. Be aware of road conditions and respond appropriately. Will occasionally install chains on buses and vans.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is a sitting job for up to 70% of shift. Must stand/walk for safety check of vehicle and paperwork completion. Breaks will be provided between stops. May lift up to 35 pounds frequently. Will bend, squat, kneel and reach above shoulder level; will climb and twist occasionally. All sensory skills are necessary. Will use hands for grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation for writing. Exposed to all temperatures, moisture conditions. Work site is 70% inside (bus) and 30% outside. Exposed to fumes, gases, poor ventilation, mechanical, burns, explosives (batteries), and snow/ice/oil hazards.

    POSITION SUMMARY: This is a supervisory position that requires the ability to promote teamwork and consistency. This position requires consistent review of accountability. Responsible for the supervision of housekeeping teams including hotel lead, condo lead, and house person lead. Attention to detail is a must.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a well groomed, professional appearance, adhering to Schweitzer Property Management dress code. Lead the housekeeping team in cleaning, preparing, and maintaining accommodations for guest occupancy. Prepare materials for, and participate in, employee training and development, health and safety meetings, and other departmental meetings. Room inspections, assisting in all work zones, driving golf carts, and helping guest with arrival and departures. Provide an honest, and open environment in which employees can grow. Lead by example.

  • Front of House Manager Skyhouse/ Rowdy Grouse

    POSITION TYPE: Full Time

    SUPERVISORY: Yes SUPERVISED BY: F&B Director

     

    POSITION SUMMARY: Manage all aspects of FOH Skyhouse/Rowdy Grouse, including hiring & training all front-line staff; all FOH financial aspects including budget, daily balancing, and controls. Directly responsible for opening/closing the restaurant and assuring all staff arrives for shifts on time, in uniform, begins working on all side work duties, and that the restaurant is ready for the lunch and/or banquet shifts. This position requires experience in all FOH positions including bartending, serving, host & busser and may take on any of these roles during any given shift. Create and cost drink menu within a set profit margin.

     

    Responsible for coaching, correcting of all FOH staff. Responsible for weekly scheduling of FOH staff. Responsible for working in conjunction with the Skyhouse Chef to ensure seamless meal service. Responsible for ordering of all FOH products and maintaining appropriate pars of that product. Responsible for monthly inventory of all FOH products. Required to work weekends and holidays.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assures guest satisfaction and supervises fellow staff, paying close attention to detail. Check back of house to see all additional duties are attended to, including accurate end of shift reports, deposits and payment system collection. Prepare the restaurant for scheduled service. Must have menu, wine and cocktail knowledge.

     

    Manage all costs (liquor, beer, wine, op supplies, and labor) within the allotted annual budget. Create and develop a staff handbook, communication log, conduct staff meetings. Clearly set all expectations including policies, daily procedures, service standards, tipping procedures w/staff upon hiring. Will be expected to follow and enforce all Schweitzers policies per the employee handbook. Responsible to maintain consistent & quality standards of service as well as adhering to all Idaho State health codes.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to complete up to 2 hours of paperwork per day and 10 to 12 hours of combined standing/walking activities. Will lift up to 50lbs. frequently. Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level on a frequent basis; will use hands for grasping and fine manipulation. All sensory skills needed. Exposed to kitchen hazards, bar hazards, and ice and snow. Worksite is 99% inside and 1% outside. Possess knowledge of Idaho State Liquor and Identification laws and become Idaho ABC certified. Ensure all offerings compliment the outlet. Maintain or exceed company EOS (Employee Opinion Survey) scores. Create and maintain Services Guidelines for operation of Skyhouse. Develop Measurements/Goals/ and update them weekly.     Financial/Inventory: Responsible for monthly inventory of all FOH products. Maintain strict inventory controls. Responsible for all FOH inventory transfers. Accurately order, receive/check product deliveries & maintain appropriate pars. Accurate and consistent cash handling skills. Alter labor/staffing levels according to business levels. Accurately cost & price all beverage offerings. Ensure accuracy of all paperwork and cash drawers before sent to accounting. Execution of labor to revenue percentages and COGS measurements.

     

    Merchandising/Purchasing: Purchase liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and bar/service supplies. Train staff to convey extensive product knowledge and upsell products when able. Maintain clean and presentable service/dining area. Maintain clean and uncluttered workspace. Help monitor food presentation and quality. Create specialty events and/or programs to bring business during low business times.

     

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

    AGE: Must be 21 due to supervision of alcohol sales.

    POSITION SUMMARY: To provide leadership, supervision and direction in the Schweitzer wellness center. Responsible for all facets of the wellness program including booking processes, staff scheduling, professional massage services, body treatments, associated programs such as yoga and other related wellness services for Schweitzer guests.

    REQUIREMENTS: Must be available weekends and holidays

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Will contribute to the overall vision, direction and implementation of Schweitzer wellness and its programs by performing the following:

    • Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
    • Oversee the operation of wellness center with continuity across all departments at Schweitzer.
    • Provide leadership and daily oversight of the programs, services and staff members in the wellness center.
    • Work with the Family Programs Director to develop and implement associated wellness programs.
    • Operate a sales system and train/ supervise staff on such.
    • Assist in the development and maintaining of the wellness budget.
    • Be financially accountable for all functions of the wellness program including adjusting labor according to business levels to match projected revenues
    • In all areas of operation, conduct business with the highest levels of guest service and safety.
    • Be responsible for overall service experience, inspire a service culture to deliver quality experiences.

    APPEARANCE STANDARDS: Schweitzer Mountain upholds the following appearance standards:

    Jewelry must be kept to a minimum. Jewelry in visible piercings are limited to:

    • In the facial area (eyebrow or side nostril) which is either a stud or a ring no larger than ½ inch. No rings in noses, pleasestuds are acceptable.
    • Only studs or rings smaller than ½ inch can be used on the upper ear. Large hoops or gauges on the lower ear may present a safety issue.
    • If you have piercings in your mouth/lips/cheeks etc. you will be asked to use a clear nylon stud or other low visibility item while you are on-duty.

    Tattoos: At no time can tattoos that may offend guests or co-workers be visible.

    Cosmetics and perfume/cologne should be kept to a minimum

    Hair should be worn so as not to cover eyes or facial features. Facial hair must be kept clean. Please do not start a new beard during the season. Good personal hygiene should be practiced.

  • Marketing Content Coordinator

    POSITION SUMMARY: Seeking outgoing person with a passion for winter sports and Schweitzer. Position will assist in a diverse range of duties including, but not limited to, videography (filming and editing), photography, social media, website management, snow reporting, public relations, event assistance and outreach. Provide fresh and changing content through a variety of channels.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Coordinates, films and edits video content across a variety of platforms including (but not limited to) web, social media, OTT and broadcast TV. Video projects also include internal stoke videos, promotional pieces, etc. Content Coordinator will assist the Marketing Manager in management, posting and monitoring of all social media channels. Will also assist in shooting and editing Schweitzer photography assets. Other duties include assistance on website management (internal CMS), snow reporting and other marketing duties as necessary.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to lift 20 lbs or more. Standing for extended periods of time. Strong skiing and/or snowboarding skills in all conditions. Willing to be outside in all weather conditions including adverse, severe winter weather.

  • Lift Maintenance Electrician

    POSITION SUMMARY:  Supports the Lift Maintenance Manager and Mountain Operations Director with overseeing the electrical maintenance, design and troubleshooting of all ski lifts.  Plans, directs and coordinates lift electrical functions by performing the following duties.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Responsible for maintaining lift and other mountain electrical systems including chairlift control and drive systems, distribution centers, transformers, power, lighting and heaters.  Executing scheduled annual, monthly, weekly and daily maintenance on chairlift electrical and mechanical equipment.  Maintain, repair and assist with lift electrical equipment by completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions and performing training to operators.  Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operations; listening form problems; and checking for issues.  Responding to and determining cause of lift electrical problems with public on board and implementing solutions by repairing or correcting Lift Operator error, explaining problem and solution to operator.  Response and correction to be completed as quickly and safely as possible with the public’s safety, and your own safety being the highest priority.  Implementing and ensuring compliance with all Company and State safety policies and procedures.

Working knowledge of all types of electrical equipment including AC motors and motor control.  AC variable speed drives, DC motors, DC variable speed drives, battery powered low voltage 24VDC controls.  Familiarity with analog, digital and PLC controls interfacing low and high voltage systems to operate ski lifts and snowmaking systems.  Troubleshooting skills using electrical testing equipment to diagnose problems.  Knowledge of ski lift electrical operation and controls.  Familiarity with National Electrical Code and Idaho Ski Safety statutes and ANSII B.77 code.

  • Lift Maintenance Apprentice

    POSITION SUMMARY: Assist lift maintenance department and technicians with performing scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance and repairs to SMR lift facilities.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This is an entry level position for applicants without adequate lift maintenance or comparable experience to meet the level II technician requirements. Apprentices are primarily responsible for assisting with and performing lift maintenance task as assigned by the lift maintenance mgr. or lead technician. While performing the job of apprentice you will receive training and skill development with the hope of working towards becoming a Level II technician. The apprentice will never be asked to work unsupervised or outside of his/her perceived skill set.

    All Apprentices must be able to develop the skills and job knowledge necessary to advance to the technician level after one complete year of employment or they will be let go or transferred to another department if possible at this time.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This job requires repetitive lifting of fifty pounds or more, working outside in extreme weather conditions, sitting or standing for long periods of time, repetitive motions, bending, Squatting, kneeling, twisting, working above your shoulder level, and the ability to safely climb ladders and structures in excess of 50 feet.     POSITION SUMMARY: This position is for an inspiring, outgoing, and energetic individual who is willing to exemplify, teach and practice the Schweitzer culture of teamwork, hospitality, camaraderie, and incredible guest experiences. Manages day to day operations of the Lakeview Lodge food service including Taps bar, Sams Alley pizzeria and Front of House Banquet services. Works with and gives support to the Lakeview Manager/BOH Banquet chef.

     

    Throughout the year will be responsible for all wedding and banquet services apart from events in Schweitzer restaurants. Responsible for planning, set up, direction, and closing out of Wedding/Banquet tickets.     POSITION SUMMARY: Cleans and maintains Sky House lodge.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS: Cleans and Maintains Sky House lodge, restrooms. In charge of trash removal, daily cleaning including windows, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and mopping. Will perform daily deep cleaning tasks. Must have knowledge of custodial cleaning supplies and how to use them. Will help with recycling program. Will also perform other duties as assigned including helping the bar, stocking, and assisting servers. Must have open availability.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Can vary physical position for comfort; position requires standing/ walking for up to 8 hours; breaks are available. Will lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level on an occasional basis; will use hands for grasping, pushing/pulling tables and fine manipulation.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a friendly, professional, and outgoing attitude. Being proactive with operational and company needs without direction. Learn and convey product knowledge. Have accurate and consistent cash handling skills. Be responsible for balancing cash tills at the end of each day. Keep work areas and merchandise clean and presentable. Become knowledgeable with Schweitzer Mountain facilities.

    PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS: Include, but are not limited to: standing and walking for up to ten hours/day, lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and reaching above the shoulder often. Hands will be used for grasping, twisting, and fine manipulation. Speech, vision, and hearing are required. Worksite is 98% inside and 2% outside. Perform other duties as assigned.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Employee must be available to work ALL WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS (Christmas Break, MLK, Presidents). Employee will be responsible for opening and/or closing the shop, complete prep work and prepare drink/food items. Must be able and willing to provide exceptional guest service at all times. Must be able to use cash machine (Squirrel), balance cash, and complete appropriate paperwork at end of shift. Will be responsible to maintain cleanliness of shop at all times and to remain professional and courteous in both appearance and manner throughout shift.

    POSITION SUMMARY: To provide inspiration, leadership, oversight, and direction to Schweitzers Snowsports school operation. Responsible for all facets of the operation including safety initiatives, staff scheduling, training, budgeting, and working with the sales department to provide a seamless experience for our guests.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Will contribute to the overall vision, direction and implementation of Schweitzer Snowsports School and its programs by performing the following:

      • Aligning Snowsports staff & services with company goals, financial success and development.
      • Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
      • Oversee the operation with continuity across all departments at Schweitzer.
      • Provide leadership and daily oversight of programs, services and staff members.
      • Work with the Director of Resort Services, Rental Manager & Guest Services Manager to develop and implement programs & products.
      • Understand and implement products within the limitations of the sales system as well as train, support and supervise staff that will be using the sales/booking/scheduling software
      • Building acceptable budgets for the Snowsports School
      • Be financially accountable for all functions of the Snowsports School including adjusting labor/expenses according to business levels to match projected revenues
      • In all areas of operation, conduct business with the highest levels of guest service and safety.
      • Be responsible for overall service experience, inspire a service culture to deliver quality experiences.
      • Communicate, implement, and enforce clear and consistent guidelines for all aspects of service.
      • Organize and maintain information systems and booking protocols. Train staff to protocols
      • Directs the hiring, training, and development of the staff in all disciplines and positions
      • Monitors performance - provides feedback and coaching to the staff in the areas of teaching, guest service, work assignments, and safety. Consults with supervisors in the documentation of instructor performance and feedback.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Responsible for up to 8 hours of combined massaging/ standing/ desk activity. Will lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds rarely. Hearing, speech, sight, walking, use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, are required. 80% outside that is exposed to all moisture levels and temperature changes. Hazards are ice and snow.

     

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

    SKILLS: Strong and effective interpersonal skills along with a strong work ethic, Ability to inspire, prioritize and delegate. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of the Snowsports School. Excellent communication skills both oral and written; computer skills with Microsoft Office required; excellent guest service skills; detailed, accurate, and organized. Extensive knowledge of ski mechanics and teaching methods. Winter Sports enthusiast and knowledge of mountain environment preferred.

    EDUCATION: PSIA level 2 or 3 certification preferred. A four-year degree or equivalent experience preferred.

    EXPERIENCE: Relevant ski & snowboard school experience.
