  • Night Auditor

    POSITION SUMMARY: Conducts all night audit functions and accounting measures associated with the Night Audit Process. Works overnight shift on Lodging Front Desk, maintains all aspects of service & tasks required of the front desk position. This position requires a full background check.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Determines the days postings to accounts are accurate and in agreement with the supporting records. Compiles all requested reports and forwards to appropriate personnel. Closes and compiles all cashier drops for the day. Reconciles and closes daily credit card accounts and transactions. Extracts and exports .csv files to create and analyze MS Excel spreadsheets and reports. Analyzes accounting information to streamline inter-department operations and acts as a liaison between the accounting and lodging departments. Internet and computer savvy. Acts as a guest services agent and meets all guest requests presented during shift. Is familiar with the lodging policies & procedures and can handle all emergencies occurring on shift (fire, earthquake, medical, etc.), including monitoring all radios and phones communicating with the Lodging director, MOD and/or Sheriffs Department as needed to handle any property or guest emergencies &/or disturbances. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: May work up to 10-hour days with an average of 8 hours. Will use hands for fine motor skills. Sensory skills of vision, speech, hearing and touch are required. Worksite is the Selkirk Lodge front desk and reservations departments. Limited ability to move away from front desk area, must be able to hear phones and radio communications. Scheduled breaks and relief not available. Paperwork duties sedentary up to 8 hours per shift. Standing / walking duties up to 2 hours per day. Lifts up to 10 lbs. frequently. Bends, squats, kneels, climbs, twists and reaches above shoulder level occasionally. Will use hands for grasping, pushing/pulling on files and drawers, and for fine manipulation typing, computers and writing. Sensory skills required of speech, vision, hearing, and touch.     OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: All employees are having contact with Hotel guests are expected to practice Exceptional Service skills in all communications and service to guests. Attend meetings as scheduled or requested. Complete any and all other assignments as directed by the Lodging Director or Front Office Manager for smooth operation of the resort during night hours.

  • Director of Lodging

    POSITION SUMMARY:  As a member of Schweitzer’s Director Team, the Lodging Operations Director oversees the entire Lodging division, including facilities, functions and staff for Schweitzer Lodging Operations.  Facilities include the Selkirk and White Pine Lodges and condominiums included in the Schweitzer rental pool.  Departments include the Front Desk and Reservations, Owner Services and Housekeeping.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Directs the operation of efficient and economically sound deluxe rental accommodations on the mountain.  This includes reservations, laundry, housekeeping, and condo management.  Works closely with Sales and Marketing departments to best promote lodging packages and promotions and to develop advertising and sales strategies.  Responsible to approve annual operating budgets for all departments reporting to the director and effectively manage operating labor and expenses for all areas of responsibility.  Works closely with the Facility and Grounds Maintenance department to coordinate repairs and maintenance for Lodging properties. The Lodging Operations Director is responsible to represent the best interests of Schweitzer Mountain Resort at all times.  The Lodging division is expected and required to uphold excellent customer service standards at all times, and the Lodging Operations Director is personally responsible to oversee these standards.

     

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:  Must have or be willing to develop extensive working knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities, events and operations and be able to effectively communicate with numerous departments. 

     

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

    SKILLS:                      Organizational skills, public speaking, communications, and people management skills are imperative. Extensive computer skills and excellent customer service required.

    EDUCATION:            Bachelor’s degree in hotel management.  Working knowledge of accounting functions. English reading, writing and communication are required.

    EXPERIENCE:           Minimum five years experience in hotel management required, familiarity with ski area and resort management and some experience with owner relations preferred.

    LICENSE NEEDED:  Valid drivers license insurable by Schweitzer and clean driving record is required to drive company vehicles. This position is subject to a pre-employment criminal history background check.

    POSITION SUMMARY: Develop, organize, implement and evaluate all on mountain events. Solicit and fulfill event sponsorships. Manage NASTAR Race Venue.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS:

    Organize Events: Work internally and externally to coordinate components of all events. This includes preliminary and ongoing risk assessment (liability and budget) communication with other departments and off-site entities. Contract bands, sound technicians, lighting technicians and other contractors as necessary to fulfill events. Work with vendors for summer festivals.

    Events Sponsorships: Identity, solicit and collect event sponsorships: fulfill sponsorship agreements

    Implement Event Plans: Responsible for: staffing, event safety, timing coordination, crowd control, host areas, grooming requests and communication with on-mountain departments. Make certain of proper equipment inventory and availability.

    Event Evaluation: Debrief each event with key parties and review P and Ls to determine event viability.

    Event Design: Research trends, identify areas of need and develop plans for new events within the financial and value parameters of Schweitzer. Continually monitor safety, financial accountability and animation factors of events. Bring creativity and freshness to events.

    NASTAR Public Racing: Plan, budget and execute all facets of the NASTAR public racing program. Hire, manage, and schedule staff. Provide safe racing environment. Oversee course setting, timing and results tabulation/distribution.

     

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and maintain relationships with all other departments on the mountain, local businesses and sponsors/alliances. Must have, or develop, extensive knowledge of Schweitzer facilities and activities. Responsibilities are listed as guidelines and are not limited to these items.

     

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

    SKILLS: Highly efficient and effective organizational skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective guest relations and employee relation skills. Able to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external organizations. Accomplished Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and graphic understanding required. Accomplished skier or snowboarder, mountain bike experience.     EXPERIENCE: 5 years outdoor recreation working experience including 3 years supervisory. Race and event logistics understanding. Experience with competition organization and results tabulation. 5 years of experience documented in logistic and staff supervision. Documented Microsoft Office expertise.

    LICENSE NEEDED: Valid Drivers License insurable by Schweitzer.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Skiing/ boarding carrying heavy loads (up to 50lbs.) Shoveling snow. Exposure to outdoor elements. Ski/ board any snow surface condition. Vision and long distance hearing are necessary to complete tasks. Able to stand or sit for long periods in both cold and hot temperatures.

  • Housekeeper

    POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for cleaning and preparing lodge rooms and condo units for occupancy in a manner that ensures guests clean, attractive and secure accommodations. Attention to detail is very important. Must be willing to work most weekend and holidays.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance, adhering to Schweitzer's dress code. Clean and prepare accommodations for occupancy through proper application of company specified cleaning procedures. Stock and maintain housekeeping carts and linen closets with products in required quantities to satisfactorily clean assigned rooms. Complete the Room Attendant Daily Report, correctly identifying the status of each assigned room and reporting any maintenance problems or product shortage. Maintain security for guests and lodge/condo units by keeping all doors locked at all times.

     

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Lodge Lead-person, Condo Lead-person assistant manager Housekeeping Manager. Knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and activities is a must. Calling in to miss a shift must be done prior to 8 am of a shift you won’t be making. NO show policy if you miss a shift without calling twice this is considered a no show two or more no shows will result in loss off position.

Stock swimming pool towels, clean up garbage, empty and clean trash receptacles, and help in snow/ice removal from lodge and pool walkways. Responsible for escorting incoming lodge guests to their rooms, assisting them with luggage, and offering pertinent information. Responsible for cleaning/preparing linen supply for lodge rooms and condo unit occupancy in a manner that ensures quest clean and attractive accommodations. Driving a golf cart/side by side to assist guest with luggage and checking in

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance, adhering to Schweitzer's dress code. Clean/prepare public areas including the greater lobby area, public bathrooms, pool area, conference room(s), storage rooms, hallways and stairwells, elevators, guest laundry, in-building parking area, front walkway area, glass, and restaurants as needed to ensure guests a clean, attractive environment. Recognize and greet guests, extending warmth and hospitality; respond appropriately to guest requests. Explain features of the guestroom, such as operation of the radio, TV, night clock, and how to place telephone calls. Deliver messages, wine, etc., and run errands as required. Recognize and greet guests, extending warmth and hospitality; respond appropriately to guest requests by having thorough knowledge of local facilities, points of interest and entertainment attractions.   • Front Desk Agent

    POSITION SUMMARY: Perform sales and customer sales related to guest registration, processing reservations and revenue collections in a manner that will ensure that Schweitzer guests receive a secure place to stay with friendly and attentive services.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Recognize, greet and extend warmth and hospitality to guests. Respond appropriately to information requests and complaints. Effectively use suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms, encourage advance reservations and promote other resort activities such as restaurants, gift shops and other resort marketing programs. Operate the front desk office equipment such as the switchboard, computer, and calculator. Process and control room reservations. Accurately and efficiently collect revenues from room rentals and other purchases. Provide security for guests by controlling room keys, verifying cash banks, making safe cash drops, preparing cash reports, following credit card verification procedures. Complete paperwork necessary for front desk operation. Perform other tasks assigned by hotel management. This Shift will include a variance of shifts including am/pm weekends and holidays.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS:  Cleans Lakeview Lodge, Mill Building, Food and Beverage outlets, and Retail areas, lockers, and restrooms.  In charge of trash removal, daily cleaning (including windows), vacuuming, dusting, etc.  Must have knowledge of custodial cleaning supplies and how to use them (some training will be provided).  Logs information on time spent at each job.  Will sweep, mop, strip and seal floors.  Will unplug toilets.  Will help with recycle program.  Will bus tables when needed and perform other duties as assigned. Can vary physical position for comfort; position requires standing/ walking for up to 8 hours; breaks are available.  Will lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.  One time per month will work with Rinse and Vac, which weighs up to 50 lbs.  Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level on an occasional basis; will use hands for grasping, pushing/pulling tables and fine manipulation.  Operates foot controls on cleaning equipment occasionally.  Worksite is 95% inside and 5% outside.  Exposed to extreme temperatures and moisture 5% of the time.  Hazards are fumes, odors, dusts, mechanical, ice/snow, and chemicals.  Required to wear rubber gloves when cleaning toilets/urinals.

    POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for cleaning/preparing linen supply for lodge room and condo unit occupancy in a manner that ensures guests clean and attractive accommodations.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance, adhering to Schweitzer's dress code. Operate laundry processing equipment at a level of proficiency resulting in acceptable cleanliness and supply of linen. Deliver processed linens to housekeeping storage rooms, stocking them in a neat and orderly manner. Regularly clean laundry processing equipment and laundry work areas.

     

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager, i.e., vacuuming hallways, cleaning public or employee restrooms, washing windows, cleaning guest accommodations (lodge or condo), and training other employees. Maintain security for guests and hotel by following all security and safety regulations, i.e., cleaning work areas, removing all linen from dryers and turning off equipment at the end of the work day, etc. Knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and activities is a must.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position demands combined walking/standing/kneeling for up to 8 hours per shift with breaks provided. Lifts up to 25 lbs frequently, up to 35 lbs rarely. Will squat, kneel, and bend frequently; and reach above shoulder level occasionally. Will climb and twist rarely. Hands are used for grasping, pushing and pulling carts. Foot control is used occasionally for vehicles and vacuums. Worksite is 95% inside and 5% outside and is exposed to all temperatures and moisture. Hazards are cleaning chemicals and snow/ice. Sensory skills required are vision, hearing, touching and speech.

     

    MACHINES/TOOLS OPERATED: Vacuums, extractors, cleaning chemicals, laundry washing and drying machines, 2-way radios, and, possibly, company vehicles

    REVIEW SCHEDULE: This position and the person filling it will be reviewed after 90 days, then evaluated once per year.
