Seasonal employment varies by position from May to September. Timbers, our restaurant will open first in late May, and the resort fully opens to guided fishing in mid-June. We will schedule employees to arrive throughout May and June with plenty of time for orientation, training and set up.
Managed by Highgate Hotels LLC, Salmon Falls Resort provides a fun and adventure-filled summer for our guests and staff. We are looking for associates for various roles who are passionate and strive to make a difference for each and every guest and each other. Our associates will have the opportunity to experience beautiful Alaska in an area that offers fishing, hiking and so much more! We expect associates to live up to these standards while working and living within our compound. We give full consideration to every application received. We will do as many interviews in person as possible but may also choose to conduct those via telephone and/or SKYPE.
Most employees are paid by the hour, and time and one-half is paid for over eight hours per day, 40 hours per week. The normal workweek usually ranges from 40 to 54 hours, however, we do not guarantee this. There may be times when you will be asked to work more or less than the normal workweek, and you will be paid accordingly.
Coordinate front desk, housekeeping and shuttle activities of the resort and resolve problems arising from guests' complaints, reservation and room assignment activities, and unusual requests and inquiries by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
The Seasonal Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for coordinating, supervising and directing all property food and beverage operations, while maintaining a profitable F&B department and high quality products and service levels. He/she is expected to market ideas to promote business; reduce employee turnover; maintain revenue and payroll budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high.
Assist the Food & Beverage Director with supervising all aspects of the restaurant and bar.
Perform duties of the Marina Manager in order to keep all aspects of the marina operating smoothly and safely.
Prepare and produce resort meals. Supervise food quality, preparation and production. Assist in development of menu designs, menu items with Executive Chef. Responsible for the supervision of kitchen employees.
Handle check-in and check-out of resort guests. Respond to guest requests. Coordinate resort and fishing package reservations. Assist with driving the shuttle.
Shuttle Drivers are responsible for providing hospitality in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner to all guests. The job duties of this position include, but not limited to: Ensuring guest are driven to and from the airport in an efficient safe manner; assisting with customers’ belongings such as luggage, baby strollers, suit jackets, and wheelchairs; and provide driving directions and other information to guest. Constant radio contact with the Valet and Front Desk are a must to ensure efficient and reliable transportation as well as timely vehicle retrievals from the parking garage. Additionally, Drivers are responsible for maintaining shuttle maintenance and keeping them fueled and road worthy. Also, drivers must abide by all traffic and airport laws when driving and immediately reporting all incidents to the supervisor. The ability to work well independently, with minimal direct supervision will be required at times.
Prepare food for our guests that consistently looks and tastes great.
Must be 21 to serve alcohol per state law.
Full-time Seasonal Position. The Room Attendant / Laundry Attendant / Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining clean and attractive guestrooms and public areas while providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests. This position will also handle laundry for the resort. The position also is responsible for maintaining Highgate Hotel Standards in all assigned lobby areas, Business Center, Fitness Center, restaurants, public restrooms, corridors, meeting rooms, offices, parking driveways, and any other public spaces.
Salmon Falls Resort is looking for seasonal Boat Captains who are passionate about SE Alaska. Our Captains excel in these northwestern waters and share local lore with our guests. We offer our guests first-class fishing experiences paired with personalized services and amenities, all-inclusive Salmon Falls Fishing Resort reinvents the Ketchikan fishing getaway in southeastern Alaska.
Certified fishing guide for all-day chartered fishing. 6 pack Captains license or greater required.
The Engineer, is responsible for ensuring that the property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to customers and employees. Make repairs to hotel furniture and fixtures (i.e., lighting systems, televisions, ceiling tiles, patching, toilets, sinks, etc.). Preventative maintenance projects in guestrooms, restaurant, bar, kitchen, common areas and marina. Support maintenance programs. Deal with guest related concerns.
The Front Desk Manager is responsible for ensuring the operation of the Front Desk and Transportation (Shuttle) in an attentive, friendly, efficient and courteous manner, providing all guests with quality service prior to and throughout their stay, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.
The Director of Operations is responsible for continually focusing on achieving resort profitability through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction and developing employees, while maintaining the integrity of the hotel.
