Overview:
Guiding Electric Mountain Bikes (eMTBs) and occasionally Side-by-Side Tours is one of the most rewarding outdoor jobs around. At Sage, you’ll lead guests through our massive private mountain — a remote, wildlife-rich refuge home to bear, elk, mountain lion, deer, coyote, and more. It’s rugged, beautiful, and one of the most unique guiding environments in Colorado.
You’ll be guiding two incredible programs: our fleet of brand new 2025 Can-Am Commanders and launching our brand-new eMTB program, built around Scor full-suspension, top-of-the-line electric mountain bikes. We're looking for someone who’s not only a capable guide but a bike nerd — someone who loves bikes, knows how they work, and is excited to help shape this new offering from the ground up.
Job Responsibilities:
Electric Mountain Bike (eMTB) Guiding
Be the cornerstone of our brand-new e-bike program — from guiding to maintaining the fleet.
Lead rides using Scor full-suspension eMTBs across a variety of terrain, adjusting to guest skill levels.
Assist with building out routes, signage, pre-trip procedures, and overall e-bike systems.
Perform daily maintenance: battery charging, brake adjustments, drivetrain cleaning, suspension checks, and software updates as needed.
Educate guests on bike setup, function, and safety.
WHEN NEEDED - Side x Side (ATV) Guiding
Guide off-road adventures in 2025 Can-Am Commanders, focusing on safety, guest experience, and terrain management.
Lead groups through high-alpine trails and scenic backcountry routes.
Perform pre-trip inspections and light mechanical work (fluids, tire pressure, belts, etc.).
Communicate effectively with the mechanical team on any maintenance issues.
General Maintenance (Both Programs)
Perform daily inspections and basic mechanical upkeep for both side-by-sides and eMTBs.
Troubleshoot issues in the field and handle quick fixes.
Maintain a clean, professional, and dialed fleet of machines and bikes.
Communicate clearly with management and mechanics to stay ahead of service needs.
Guest Experience & Risk Management
Provide outstanding customer service with a friendly, confident, and professional attitude.
Read the room (or trail) — adjust your communication, pace, and route selection to match the group.
Manage risk in real time and ensure everyone feels safe and included.
Share your passion for the outdoors and your nerd-level knowledge of gear in a way that’s approachable and fun.
We’re Looking For:
A bike nerd: someone who knows bikes, loves talking about bikes, and takes pride in keeping them dialed.
Prior experience with eMTBs, side-by-sides, or similar gear — ideally both.
Strong mechanical skills and the ability to handle basic fixes and ongoing maintenance.
Nice to Have - Previous guiding or outdoor leadership experience (any discipline welcome).
Exceptional communication and guest service skills — friendly, calm, and confident.
