A small, fun, family-owned restaurant - Spend the summer in rural Alaska
Sackett's is a fast-casual restaurant that specializes in Barbeque and Pizza and is a popular restaurant destination for the busy tourist season.
Located on the heart of the Kenai River in Cooper Landing Alaska. The area boasts world-class fishing, hiking, and camping.
About Sackett's Kenai Grill
At Sackett’s, we pride ourselves on our homemade, fresh food. We specialize in BBQ smoked on property using family rub and BBQ sauce recipes and house-made egg-washed buns. In 2013, Glenn opened greenhouses in Sterling (Sackett Family Farms) that supply the restaurant with fresh produce whenever possible. And that’s not all, Sackett’s offers delicious baked goods to complete the meal; customers are always coming back for another turtle bar or coconut almond chocolate chip cookie!
Although we are fast-casual, we are proud to offer exemplary customer service by ensuring that guests have everything they need while they are dining and that all staff interactions are friendly and efficient.
We prefer our employees to have an availability of April 15th through September 15th. There is some potential wiggle room on for highly qualified candidates.
We prefer our employees to be:
- Able to work on their feet for 8 hours without complaint
- Compassionate for their customers and coworkers
Room and Board
We offer housing for $150/month/employee, all utilities included which includes the following:
- A mini cabin shared with one other employee of the same sex. These tents have locking doors, a heater, lights, and power outlets. There is a wooden floor which is elevated off the ground. Cots are provided but bedding (sleeping bags, pillows, blankets, etc.) is not.
- Employee shower house with washing machine.
- Employee lounge with WiFi, a TV, movies, DVD player, and small kitchen area.
The accommodations are rustic, but located on-site which is right across the street from the Kenai River, and you can't beat the price!
- 40% off restaurant food
- Employee parties and trips
- Fourth of July off
Getting Here and Getting Around
All employees are responsible for their transportation to and from Alaska, but we will provide transportation from the Anchorage airport.
Cars are highly advised because Cooper Landing is located about an hour away from the nearest city with banks and large stores such as Fred Meyer and Wal-Mart. Cooper Landing does have a small grocery store as well as two convenience stores.
Cooper Landing stretches about 7 miles along the Sterling Highway and Sackett's property is located towards one end if it. Therefore it can be a trek to other restaurants and shops in town, however we do have bicycles available on property (you are welcome to bring your own) and it has been our experience that most employees with cars are quite generous about offering rides.
Cooper Landing is a rural community that is for the adventurous outdoorsy type.
If you're looking for an active night life scene then Cooper Landing may not be for you (although many of the restaurants and bars in the area host live music on weekends and local bon fires are plentiful once you make some friends).
However, if you love the outdoors and all that goes with it (hiking, camping, fishing, etc.) then Cooper Landing is one of the best areas around! It is both captivating and beautiful and offers a unique small-town vibe while playing host to seasonal employees and tourists from all over the world.
Customers place their order at a counter with a cashier and receive a number.
Once their food is ready it is run to the table by a food runner along with silverware and condiments.
Bussers are then responsible for cleaning up the tables when guests leave and readying them for new customers.
- Front of House (Cashiers, Food Runners, Bussers, Servers).

- Prep Cooks
Please note, that due to our fast-casual environment, tips are pooled.
