The Russian American Company owns and operates 4 retail storefronts in Sitka, Alaska consisting of art galleries and gift shops specializing in quality Alaskan and Russian art, collectibles and souvenirs.
Applicant will be required to provide a high level of service in a fast-paced and exciting retail environment, promoting sales, merchandising, stocking, shipping and receiving, emphasizing guest interaction and including all other facets of our retail businesses.
Sitka is small town in a pristine coastal environment in the heart of Alaska’s Tongass National Forest, with a rich Russian and Alaskan history. Experience the vibrant summer activity in Sitka as the town is a cultural, art and outdoor center and destination for tourism; with fishing, kayaking, whale watching, hiking, and including our premier Sitka Fine Arts Camp and month-long Sitka Summer Musical Festival.
We are seeking sales-oriented individuals or couples with experience in retail or a willingness to learn. A minimum of 40 hours per week (plus possible overtime) is offered, with housing optional (in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with full kitchen and laundry facilities). A travel stipend could be considered.
Applicants must be outgoing enthusiastic and willing to work long hours under pressure in a high traffic environment. Past sales experience is required and knowledge of Russian art and culture very beneficial; couples and retirees welcomed. Appropriate dress code and ability to pass drug screening required.
Seasonal positions are offered from May 1 until September 28, 2018
Above average salary depends upon experience.
