Rosario Resort & Spa on Orcas Island (San Juan Islands) is seeking experienced line cooks to join our Food & Beverage team. These are full-time positions with added hours in our busy summer season. In addition to a competitive hourly wage, employee housing is offered at reasonable rates.

Our kitchen staff provides meals for multiple venues across the seasons - everything from upscale farm to table to a casual lounge to the seaside cafe to small and large-scale events. We are currently filling positions to work the line in our main kitchen which supplies both the more formal Mansion Restaurant and the more casual Moran Lounge. Details are as follows:

The Mansion Restaurant features a menu of classically-inspired dishes prepared with local ingredients from the San Juan Islands and the Skagit Valley. The butchering of whole animals is done on premises, as are all stocks and sauces made from scratch.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum 2 years experience on both hot and cold lines, excellent knife skills and a thorough knowledge of proper food handling. Must be self-motivated, professional, passionate about food, and have a gracious and positive attitude. During service, our staff are expected to have a strong sense of urgency and precision when preparing and plating food. Experience working
in open kitchens is a plus.

The menu for The Moran Lounge is more casual and curated to be a thoughtful and well-executed approach to comfort food. It features a hand tossed pizzas, halibut and chips (broken down in house and battered to order) alongside other lounge classics including, of course, an incredible house burger served on a housemade bun.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1 year's experience on both hot and cold lines, an understanding of proper food handling and be ready and willing to work high volume shifts in a clean and efficient manner. Must be self-motivated, professional, gracious and present a positive attitude to guests and fellow staff alike. A sense of urgency and understanding of food costs and portioning is a must. Experience working in open kitchens is a plus.
