The Employee Experience
..."Working at the Rocking C’s Ranch this past summer was one of the greatest solo adventures that I have ever gone on. As soon as I arrived in Montana, I instantly fell in love with the Big Sky Country and was so excited to call this place home for the next couple months. The remoteness, big skies, huge mountains, and breathtaking sights were absolutely unbelievable and I had honesty never seen a state so beautiful in my entire life. The work was hard, but fun, and the weekends were well spent with countless adventures and road trips that made it so worth it! Being up in the mountains helped me learn so much more about myself, life, and everything in between and I feel that when I came back home that I had changed for the better. The days were well spent out there and it inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and experience life as simply and fully as possible. The people there were very genuine and one-of-a-kind people and I will always cherish the memories that I made with them in Montana during the Summer 2017 Season!" -Olivia C., Ohio
...."I was fortunate enough to spend a summer working and living at the Rocking C’s Ranch in White Sulphur Springs, Montana. I am so lucky to have spent my last summer break gaining an experience of a lifetime. Job experience is only one of the many things I gained while at Rocking C’s. I also formed new friendships, visited new places, and learned to more greatly appreciate the outdoors. Rocking C’s is in a beautiful location with mountains and the Smith River right at your fingertips. Due to the prolonged daylight in summer, there is plenty of time for activities after work hours. This means there was plenty of time for hiking, camping, weekend trips, fishing, sunsets, and just hanging out on the ranch. Although a lot of time was spent outside, the ranch facilities are great. There’s a gym, pool, and rec hall for staff to use. The chefs this past summer were awesome and provided us with delicious meals daily. The staff, both full-time and seasonal – became my temporary family and I continue to keep in contact with most everyone. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to spend their summer working hard, but also enjoying all of the experiences this opportunity has to offer." -Annie G., Missouri
Every year we are honored to receive feedback from our summer employees that the staff here become like family and the ranch like a home away from home. Check out this awesome staff video to get a feel of the closeness staff develops over the summer and the fun they have together!
... "Working at the Rocking C's wasn't just a great summer experience, it was truly life-changing for me. An incredible honor to learn from world-class Chefs while cooking for the esteemed owners of the ranch, their special guests, and a diverse team of amazing colleagues, my eyes were opened and my skills were honed, as I quickly fell in love with Big Sky Country. It was hard work and long days, but it was the most rewarding job I've ever had. Montana is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places on Earth, and if you are adventurous, all of the national parks, forests, rivers, and slopes could keep you entertained for a lifetime. Here I even learned to hunt, shoot, and fish! A city girl hailing from Metro Detroit, I had dreamed of seeing the Rockies for years, but what I found in the small town of White Sulphur Springs, on the ranch at The Rocking C's, and in my weekend trips throughout Montana, was greater even than the mountains, and more than I could have dreamed--I found direction, I found home, and I even found true love. It was a pivotal chapter in my life. As a Sous Chef on the ranch, I was inspired by the creativity and techniques taught to me by the Chefs, and empowered to take everything I knew to the next level. I packed up my things in Michigan and moved to White Sulphur Springs, to cook in the community while starting a business of my own (spurred by several connections made over the summer), and to be with the cowboy I met and fell in love with. I hope to return to the ranch to cook again in the next season, if not for many more." - Amber A., Michigan

“ ....Never before have I fallen in love with a place that had so much beauty and so many great people working together as a team. The time that I spent at the Rocking C's Ranch was filled with adventure, hard work, and fun times with awesome people. Over the course of my three summers at the ranch, I was able to step out of my comfort zone, meet new people, and explore a part of the country that many people never get a chance to see. The ranch truly became my home away from home, and my time spent there will forever be some of the best times of my life...." -Aubrey, South Carolina
