Accounting Assistant

Performs variety of accounting and clerical tasks.  Processes daily combined sales reports and miscellaneous Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger Postings. Assists in other areas of accounting as assigned. Prioritizes daily work schedule to meet accounting's established deadlines. 

Accounting employee 8:30am-4:30pm, Mondays through Fridays for October-April.  Schedule changes to include weekends and summer holidays from late April through end of September.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all areas of accounting as assigned by the accounting manager. 

  • Assisting Accounting Manger

  • Daily Sales and Cash

  • Accounts Payable

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills with ability to listen, hear and resolve the concerns of staff and managers needs

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Reflect positive, friendly demeanor to all and ability to interact with people

  • High school diploma with various accounting experience.  Must have two years of accounting experience.

  • Computer skills to include Excel and Word Processing

  • Ability to work independently, under minimum supervision, while performing multi-tasks within the workplace environment 

  • Experience with automated accounting systems

  • Must maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed personal appearance 

  • Possess excellent organizational skills

  • Discretion and trustworthiness as a result of access to confidential information

  • Must be able to operate a ten-key adding machine by touch

General Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in seated position for an extended period of time

  • Lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds

  • Occasionally stoop, kneel and/or bend at the waist

  • Use hands to reach for, grasp or manipulate objects

  • Climb stairs 

Full-time, year-round.
