Human Resources
Human Resources Assistant
Apply NowBig mountain energy. Small details that matter.
A great winter season takes more than snow. It takes people who help everything come together.
Red Lodge Mountain is looking for a Human Resources Assistant who enjoys helping people, keeping things organized, and jumping in when the mountain needs a hand. From welcoming a new employee to tracking paperwork and answering questions, your work will help our team get ready for winter and keep operations moving throughout the season.
You’ll work directly with the Human Resources Director and connect with departments across the mountain. Expect a busy office, plenty of questions, changing priorities, and opportunities to learn how a ski area operates.
What You’ll Do
Be a welcoming, helpful point of contact for employees, guests, managers, and vendors.
Assist with recruiting, interview scheduling, onboarding paperwork, and new hire orientation.
Keep employee records accurate, confidential, and organized, including information in ADP and training documentation.
Help employees navigate routine HR questions, forms, benefits information, and company systems.
Support HR processes, including benefits paperwork, workers’ compensation documentation, unemployment responses, and safety records.
Help prepare correspondence, reports, training materials, and administrative communications.
Keep the office running smoothly through reception coverage, mail, deliveries, and supply management.
Learn RTP, our point-of-sale system, to assist with authorized pass and ticket transactions.
Pitch in across mountain departments, including tickets, rentals, retail, and food and beverage, as assigned and appropriately trained.
What You Bring
You’re friendly, dependable, and attentive to the details. You can give someone a warm welcome, handle confidential information thoughtfully, and follow through on the paperwork after the conversation ends.
We’re looking for someone with:
At least two years of customer service experience.
Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
Comfort using Microsoft Office and SharePoint and learning new systems.
Good judgment about what you can answer and when to bring a question to HR leadership.
The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently or with a team.
A flexible attitude and willingness to support mountain operations.
Availability to work full-time throughout the winter season, including scheduled weekends and holidays.
HR or administrative experience is a plus, as is familiarity with HRIS systems, ticketing systems, or the ski and hospitality industries.
Your Winter Workday
This role is primarily based in an office and reception setting, with frequent interruptions and busy stretches. Some assignments will take you into other departments or outdoors, where winter weather, snow, and ice are part of the setting.
Work includes computer and telephone use, handling documents, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and bending. You’ll frequently handle items up to 10 pounds and occasionally move supplies up to 30 pounds, with assistance or equipment as needed. Essential functions may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ready to Join the Mountain Team?
If you like helping people, bringing order to a busy day, and being part of what makes a winter season work, we’d love to hear from you.
