Job Title:   Bierstube Server                       

Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager                                                          

Wage: $10.55/hour + tips

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt                                                                                                                                     

Job Summary: Serves food, alcoholic beverages, and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a fast-paced alpine restaurant and bar environment while ensuring quality service and compliance with all state regulations.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following:

 Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction with efficient, friendly service.

  • Take orders, serve food and beverages, and ring up bills for restaurant patrons.

  • Serve cocktails, wine, and beer.

  • Accurately ring up customer purchases, receive money, and give change using a point of sales system.

  • Process credit card transactions and accurately enter tip amounts.

  • Stock and clean wait staff area.

  • Wipe down tables and chairs and vacuum floors daily.

Required:

  • State of Montana Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service (RASS) training certification (or ability to obtain prior to serving).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.

  • Ability to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred:

  • Experience in food service or hospitality.

  • Cash handling experience.

  • Prior experience working with the public.

  • Knowledge of the ski industry.

  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms.

  • Frequently lift and move up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to work in both indoor restaurant settings and outdoor alpine conditions as needed.

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily performed indoors in a restaurant/bar environment.

  • Occasional exposure to humid conditions, sharp/hot objects, and cleaning chemicals.

  • May occasionally be exposed to extreme cold and wet alpine conditions.

  • Willingness, if necessary, to travel to work via chairlift, snowmobile, or snowcat.

  • Harsh weather conditions may be encountered while at work or traveling to work in a high alpine environment.
