Job Title: Bierstube Cook

Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager

Wage: $19.00/Hour

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

Job Summary: Prepares, stocks, and cooks food in a fast-paced, high-volume alpine restaurant environment, ensuring quality, safety, and excellent service for guests and employees.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following: other duties may be assigned:

  • Ensure customer satisfaction through efficient, friendly, and professional service.

  • Prepare quality pub fare for a casual, fast-paced, high-volume restaurant.

  • Use and maintain kitchen equipment, including grills, flattops, fryers, and industrial appliances.

  • Wash, cut, prepare, and cook food items in accordance with standards and Food & Beverage management procedures.

  • Maintain kitchen stations, including daily setup, breakdown, cleaning, and restocking.

  • Wash and stock dishes, utensils, and cookware.

  • Take out garbage and sweep/mop kitchen floors and hallways.

  • Clean, sanitize, and restock kitchen areas to meet health and safety standards.

  • May assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory management.

Required:

Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with guests, co-workers, supervisors, and managers.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Demonstrates good judgment by analyzing the impact of decisions on the rest of the organization.

· Can work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays, into the evening.

Preferred:

  • Knife skills and knowledge of scratch cooking.

  • Knowledge of the ski industry.

  • Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and allergen protocols.

  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms.

  • Lift and move up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally with assistance.

  • Ability to work in hot kitchen areas and cold alpine conditions.

Equipment Used:

  • Industrial kitchen equipment and appliances (grill, flattop, fryers, etc.)

  • Sharp knives, cooking, and serving utensils

  • Computer and POS system

  • Telephone

  • Cleaning equipment (mop, broom, etc.)

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed primarily in a kitchen/bar environment with exposure to sharp/hot objects, humid conditions, and cleaning chemicals.

  • May occasionally be exposed to extreme cold, wet, or alpine weather conditions.

  • Willingness, if necessary, to travel to work via chairlift, snowmobile, or snowcat.

  • Harsh weather conditions may be encountered while at work or traveling to work in a high alpine environment.
