Job Title: Bierstube Bartender

Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager

Wage: $10.85 + tips 

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

Job Summary: Prepares and serves alcoholic beverages and food, delivers outstanding guest service, and ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming atmosphere in the Bierstube.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following: other duties may be assigned:

  • Always provide top-quality customer service to guests and employees.

  • Ensure customers and employees are treated courteously, safely, and efficiently.

  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and orderly food and beverage facilities.

  • Assure compliance with all health, liquor, and food safety regulations.

  • General Bartending duties: Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, and beer; serve food as required.

  • Accurately ring up customer purchases, handle cash, process credit card transactions, and enter tip amounts using the POS system.

  • Stock, clean, and organize bar and cooler areas.

  • Take out garbage/recycling daily, clean and mop behind the bar.

  • May assist with food preparation or light cooking and may perform wait staff duties as needed.

  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory management as assigned.

  • Utilize Toast, RTP, or other computer systems as required.

Required:

· Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with guests, co-workers, supervisors, and managers.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Demonstrates good judgment by analyzing the impact of decisions on the rest of the organization.

· Can work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays, into the evening.

Experience/ Education

Required:

· Ability to always maintain a professional demeanor.

· State of Montana Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service Training Program certificate.

· Experience tending bar.

Preferred:

· Prior experience working with the public.

· Cash handling experience.

· Knowledge of the ski industry.

Employees must be capable of standing and or walking 90% of a normal 8-hour work shift. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Willingness, if necessary, to travel to work via chairlift, snowmobile and snow cat. Harsh weather conditions may be encountered on the route to work and while at work, in a high alpine environment.
