Job Title: Rental Technician (Ski & Snowboard Rentals)
Location: Red Lodge Mountain – Rental Shop
Reports To: Rental Manager
Status: Seasonal | Non-Exempt
Wage: DOE
Schedule: Must be available weekends/holidays (that’s when the mountain is most alive!)

This is not just “handing out boots.” This is setting people up for a great day—literally. As a Rental Technician, you’re part gear expert, part problem-solver, part hype crew. You’ll help guests get fitted, dialed, and safely ready to hit the slopes—whether it’s their first-ever lesson or their 50th season.

If you can spot a bad boot fit from ten feet away and you get real satisfaction from “Yep—this is perfect,” you’ll love this role.

What You’ll Do (The “Get ‘Em Ready” Checklist)

  • Deliver friendly, knowledgeable, efficient guest service in the rental shop

  • Help guests choose, fit, and adjust ski and snowboard equipment

  • Set and test bindings according to industry standards and skier/rider profiles

  • Maintain clean, organized workspaces and restock as needed

  • Safely remove or relocate snow around work areas

  • Communicate effectively with teammates via radio, phone, or face-to-face

  • Uphold safety and service standards that reflect resort values

What You Bring (The “We Can Count on You” Vibe)

  • Strong people skills and a positive, can-do attitude

  • Excellent attention to detail and a love for efficiency

  • Ability to work weekends and holidays

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Customer service, rentals, or retail experience

  • POS and cash handling experience

  • Familiarity with ski/snowboard gear and industry trends

Physical Requirements / ADA Statement (Real Talk)

This role requires regular walking, talking, hearing, and seeing. You’ll be on your feet for most of a 9-hour shift, often in snowy or uneven terrain. Must be able to lift and move 30 lbs or more. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with the ADA.

Screwdrivers, pliers, bindings, shovels, computer, telephone, and two-way radio

Work Environment

Indoor/outdoor mountain setting with exposure to cold temperatures, snow, and moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate. Safety training is provided.
