As a Shuttle Driver at Red Lodge Mountain, you will provide safe, reliable, and welcoming transportation for our guests and employees. You may be one of the first friendly faces they see, setting the tone for an unforgettable day on the mountain.

This role is about more than driving from point A to point B. It requires excellent judgment, attention to changing winter conditions, care for your assigned vehicle, and a genuine commitment to taking care of people.

Your Daily Mission

• Safely operate shuttle buses to transport guests and employees.

• Start up, inspect, operate, maintain, and shut down assigned vehicles and equipment.

• Complete required maintenance logs, inspections, and operational checklists.

• Perform daily vehicle checks and routine maintenance, including greasing when assigned.

• Keep your vehicle clean, safe, and ready for service.

• Identify mechanical or operational concerns and promptly notify your supervisor or the maintenance team.

• Evaluate changing road, weather, traffic, vehicle, and environmental conditions throughout your shift.

• Communicate clearly with guests, employees, supervisors, and coworkers.

• Use telephones and two-way radios to share timely operational information.

• Work closely with mechanics and supervisors to support the safe operation and maintenance of resort vehicles.

• Assist with additional transportation or mountain operations needs as assigned.

What You Bring

• A current Montana driver’s license.

• A willingness to work closely with mechanics, supervisors, and fellow drivers.

• Availability for early mornings, weekends, holidays, snow days, and a varied seasonal schedule.

• Reliable transportation and the ability to report to work safely during adverse winter conditions.

• A commitment to following all vehicle, resort, and transportation safety procedures.

Additional licensing or endorsements may be required depending on the type and passenger capacity of the assigned vehicle.

Experience That Will Help You Succeed

The following experience is preferred, but not required:

• Driving passenger shuttles, buses, vans, or commercial vehicles.

• Working with the public and providing exceptional customer service.

• Driving or working in snow, ice, and harsh winter conditions.

• Operating four-wheel-drive vehicles, snowmobiles, ATVs, or other equipment.

• Performing basic vehicle inspections or routine maintenance.

• Working in the ski, tourism, hospitality, or outdoor recreation industry.

• General mechanical knowledge.

The Real Talk

This position requires safe, focused driving in a busy mountain environment. Conditions may include snow, ice, extreme cold, low visibility, heavy traffic, uneven surfaces, and rapidly changing weather.

You must be able to:

• Sit for approximately 90% of a typical eight-hour shift.

• Walk or stand for portions of the shift, including on snow, ice, and uneven terrain.

• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Occasionally lift, push, or pull more than 50 pounds.

• Bend, kneel, reach, crawl, and make occasional climbing movements.

• Safely enter and exit vehicles throughout the shift.

• Maintain the close, distance, peripheral, and night vision necessary for safe vehicle operation.

• Accurately judge depth, distance, road conditions, and surrounding hazards.

• Work around loud equipment, vibration, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and wet or extremely cold conditions.
