Be the Reason the Mountain Feels Ready

Before the first guest walks through the door, before families settle in for lunch, and before someone steps into a warm lodge after a cold run, you have already made an impact.

This is not “just a cleaning job.”

As a Janitor at Red Lodge Mountain, you help create the experience our guests remember. You keep our spaces clean, safe, stocked, and welcoming from the base area to our on-mountain facilities.

You are the behind-the-scenes MVP who notices what others miss, handles what needs to be done, and takes pride in leaving every space better than you found it.

If you love visible results, enjoy staying active, can handle winter doing what winter does, and want a job that takes you beyond four walls, this could be your mountain.

Your Daily Mission

  • Keep Red Lodge Mountain’s base-area and on-mountain facilities clean, safe, and guest-ready.

  • Clean, sanitize, inspect, and restock restrooms throughout the day.

  • Empty garbage and recycling and transport materials to designated locations.

  • Respond quickly when a facility needs attention.

  • Assist with snow removal using shovels, snow scoops, and snow blowers.

  • Support other departments with cleaning and light-maintenance needs.

  • Communicate clearly with team members in person and by telephone or two-way radio.

  • Travel between facilities using available mountain transportation, which may include chairlifts, snowmobiles, or snow-grooming machines.

  • Ski or snowboard safely to mountainside facilities when required.

  • Take ownership of the details that keep the mountain running smoothly.

You’ll Thrive Here If You

  • Take real pride in a job done right.

  • See what needs to be done and get after it.

  • Are dependable, efficient, and comfortable working independently.

  • Treat coworkers and guests with respect.

  • Stay calm, flexible, and solution-focused when plans change.

  • Like physical work and enjoy being both indoors and outdoors.

  • Can safely navigate snow, ice, uneven terrain, and changing mountain conditions.

  • Are not afraid of cold temperatures, early mornings, busy weekends, or a little snow in your boots.

What You Bring

  • General janitorial, custodial, or cleaning skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A reliable, self-motivated, and team-focused work style.

  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, snow days, and a varied seasonal schedule.

  • Reliable transportation and the ability to drive safely in adverse winter conditions.

  • The ability to safely reach mountainside facilities by chairlift, skiing, or snowboarding.

  • Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability.

  • The physical ability to move snow, remain on your feet for extended periods, and work safely across changing terrain.

Great, But Not Required

  • Previous janitorial or custodial experience.

  • Experience working with the public or delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Familiarity with ski areas, mountain operations, or the outdoor recreation industry.
