About Red Canyon Lodge

There are some places that you just can’t forget and Red Canyon Lodge is one of them. Guests come back year after year because they can't get enough of this place and the experience it has to offer. This little oasis is rich in history and has grown from quant rustic cabins to a beautiful resort nestled amongst the ponderosa pines. Adventure is part of our history starting with john wesley powell and butch cassidy. Both left their mark on this beautiful country. Float the river like powell did and find an escape like butch cassidy.

We share this scenic spot with a lot of locals, including herds of mule deer, moose and hundreds of songbirds and big horn sheep. Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area offers outdoor recreation galore without the national park crowds.

This place makes you want to get up at 5:30 in the morning just to make sure you don’t miss the sunrise. We are steps away from Flaming Gorge Reservoir and The Green River which both provide world class fishing, recreation and adventuring.

Red Canyon Lodge is Hidden in Ashley National Forest, backing onto the Uinta mountains. With a 100,000 acre guiding permit we seek to explore and enjoy these mountains every chance we get. But even with all this land our greatest attraction are the two private fishing lakes on the immediate property. Both lakes contain trophy rainbow and tiger trout. We offer rowboats, peddle boats, SUP’s Canoes, Kayaks and horseback rides to guests as well as staff so they can enjoy their time off.

We have a full service restaurant where people drive miles just to dine with us and gander at the beautiful wild birds. Our A Frame lodge with an all glass front provides amazing views that are hard to beat.

Our aim is to provide an experience where the moments on our property, working with our staff and enjoying our recreation will linger in their memories for years to come.

The Employee Experience

Though the guest is the main priority, the greatest factor to the success of someone's stay is their interactions with the staff. Many of our guests have left notes of love and appreciation for our staff and the amazing experience they provided. Living and working at red canyon lodge generates a level of camaraderie within the staff. We work hard together and play hard together and know that balance is integral to our success.

We have no doubt that the months and years spent at Red Canyon Lodge will develop great friendships and family-like ties that will carry on for years. The views are stunning and the access to outdoor recreation is mind blowing. Trails right out your front door and lakes and rivers are a stone's throw away.

Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Candidate is someone who is eager to spend their summer in our wild playground. While we expect you to work hard, we also are truly interested in your well-being and development.

We are looking for individuals who are cheerful, engaging and hardworking. A positive outlook towards making our guest stay the best it can be is a necessity. Our staff members must have a vested interest in those around them, staff and guests alike. We aim to hire those who strive to make the most out of their work experiences. Those who want to learn, grow and develop new skills.

Room and Board

We offer a mix of employee housing options at a nominal monthly cost which includes all beds, linens, and furniture as well as 3 meals per day.

Employee Perks

We have a number of outdoor recreational toys such as mountain bikes, kayaks, rowboats, canoes, SUP’s and fishing supplies that are free to use on your off time when available. We encourage our staff to enjoy their use and maybe learn a new skill! Staff receive a discount on most retail and restaurant items. We encourage staff to engage and build relationships with each other and guests.

Getting Here and Getting Around

By far, the best way to enjoy exploring all that Flaming Gorge has to offer is to bring your own private vehicle.

That said, many of our employees do not have vehicles and still get a lot out of living in a remote forest setting. There is bus and regional airline services to our surrounding communities; Vernal, Utah and Rock Springs, Wyoming. We regularly make arrangements to pick up staff from these towns.

For Fun

The sky is the limit with amazing recreational opportunities in our area. Here's a few of our favorites:

  • Learn to fish some of the best trophy waters in the west.

  • Explore vast recreation area lands from Wyoming's high desert to the alluring High Uintas wilderness.

  • Boat, paddle, catch trophy trout or enjoy a swim in the 91-mile long Lake Flaming Gorge.

  • Find your own mountain lake for the afternoon.

  • Soak in the scenery at one of the area's many scenic overlooks, the best one being a short walk away from the Lodge.

  • Raft the legendary Green River.

  • Enjoy all the outdoor toys at the Lodge at no charge!
