After reading through our profile, we hope that you find yourself to be a good fit for Rainbow Trout Ranch.
We mainly need staff from mid-May to the end of September although we do have some flexibility as far as dates - so contact us even if you have to leave in August, or if you can't come until mid-June. Our goal is to have a great staff, and if you are the right person for the job we will do all we can to work with your schedule.
Please understand that when you become part of our staff, you will be hired to work in a particular position, but you do help in other areas as needed.

The Cowpoke Counselor is responsible for our 6-11-year-old guests while out on rides and during activities. Our counselors have to be able to ride with, guide, and teach a variety of ages how to ride to the best of their ability. As well as being self-motivated and able to relate well to children, they need to make everything fun! Experience with this age group and some level of riding and horse experience is important since the counselor is also a wrangler. Candidates must be extremely teachable and willing to learn.

The Teen Counselor is responsible for our 12-17-year-old guests while out on rides and during activities. Our counselors have to be able to ride with, guide, and teach a variety of ages how to ride to the best of their ability. They need to be self-motivated, relate well to teens, and be able to make everything fun! Experience with this age group and some level of riding and horse experience is important since the counselor is also a wrangler. Candidates must be extremely teachable and willing to learn.

Responsible for daily housekeeping of the guest cabins and regular turnover of cabins, as well as serving and cleaning up meals and other duties.

Wranglers need to have a strong background in riding and excellent people skills. Main duties include care and maintenance of the horses and conducting guest rides of all levels, as well as helping in general work around the ranch as needed. Wranglers need to be very teachable and willing. Excellent communication skills are a must.

Responsible for instructing and guiding guests on the river and instructing with trap shooting and archery. Also part of maintenance and groundskeeping, therefore basic knowledge of maintenance, tools and repair is important. Need to be willing to help in all areas of the ranch.
Excellent communication skills are a must. Possible opportunity to guide for overnight/longer pack trips.

Responsible for our 3-5 year old guests. Activities include being led on horseback so need to be comfortable around horses. Buckaroo Counselors need to be teachable, willing and able to make things fun for our youngest guests.

And remember, even if you can't stay the whole summer, we can accommodate a certain amount of staff who have to leave in August due to college schedules. And we can also accommodate some who can't come until later in June but can stay until the end of September. We just want great staff - even if dates aren't perfect!
