Parchers Resort and South Lake Boat Landing are located in the stunning Inyo National Forest above 9,000 feet in elevation in the beautiful Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains near Bishop California. The resort lies on a pine-sheltered bench between two beautiful mountain streams, the lively South Fork Bishop Creek and the more placid Green Creek. Fishing, hiking, backpacking, kayaking and photography are just a few of the activities employees can enjoy on their time off.
Each season we hire between 5 and 8 employees. Most of the employees that work for the resort live on the property. Our season begins in early May and continues through the end of October. We have rental cabins, RV hookups, a small store, a gift shop, and a small marina on South Lake in Bishop. We do not have a restaurant. Please do not apply if you are not available for the entirety of our season.
We are in the hospitality business with most of our customers engaging in outdoor recreation - primarily fishing and hiking. We strive to find energetic enthusiastic individuals who can provide our guests with exceptional customer service to make their stay with us unforgettable. Our guests are primarily families or groups of friends who truly love our little resort and their time on the mountain which makes for lots of very friendly customers. We only hire nice friendly people here.
We do not hire employees for specific positions however expect housekeeping to be a part of your daily workload. All resort staff pitch in and help in most facets of our business so expect to clean rental cabins, assist customers in the store and reservation office, perform light maintenance tasks, or work at the boat landing at South Lake Bishop during any given workday. We are a small family business and try to keep everyone busy during their shift. It's not a glamorous job, but a very fulfilling one, and the opportunity to live and work in one of the most spectacular places anywhere typically makes for a very happy work environment.
We are looking for active people who like to clean and stay busy, and aren't afraid to get a little dirty. We need folks who take pride in their work, whether that be cleaning a cabin, interacting with customers, taking out the trash or restocking our store. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new things will help ensure a successful season at the resort. Prior knowledge of the area, trout fishing, hiking, backpacking or photography are ideal but not necessary. A passion for the outdoors is an absolute must. Applicants should be able to lift 50lbs and be capable of doing physically demanding work at high elevations as the resort is at 9,260ft and the boat landing is at 9,768ft of elevation. Familiarity with the Windows platform and MS Office is also very helpful.
Staff housing available for the right applicants. No pets allowed.
