Join our small, upbeat crowd, working with a small sea kayak/raft guiding outfit based in Valdez, Alaska. We are looking for positive, hard-working, team-oriented individuals who would like to spend summers working a rewarding job in a beautiful place with fun, outdoorsy people.

Our raft guides lead small groups down class III rapids through the dramatic Keystone Canyon of the Lowe River. Our main goal is to have these outings be lead safely and informatively. We do require that all guides have their Wilderness First Responder certification, as well as their SRT and/or raft guiding cert. Pay is per trip and full-season guides can gross $8K-$10K across the course of the season. Also, tips are common in our industry, and guides can usually expect to make 1/3 more in gross income. All raft guides also double as sea kayak guides, leading groups on paddles in tidewater glacier zones and throughout the stunningly scenic area of Prince William Sound surrounding Valdez. 

Sharp attention to detail, a willingness to learn, sound judgment, good people skills, and of course, a passion for the outdoors are all musts! We are only hiring US Nationals at this time.

The dates of employment run 5/8 - 9/14, and some employees may leave in late August to return to school. Rustic accommodation is provided in a choice spot on the edge of town, within a quick bike ride from our office. The only expenses employees should have to worry about are getting to and from Valdez, food, and some basic gear.
