Pacific Crest Youth Arts Organization is looking for one or more smart, energetic, and organized individuals to be Food Service Manager (FSM) for its flagship Drum and Bugle Corps program. The FSM is responsible for the daily operations of the corps’ mobile kitchen. Responsibilities include planning, ordering, and managing the preparation of meals for the corps’ 200 students, staff, and volunteers -- while managing a group of volunteer cooks. The FSM will work with our administrative team to ensure our performers are receiving the proper nutrition for their rigorous physical activity and schedule.

Pacific Crest holds rehearsal camp weekends in the winter and spring, and the corps moves in for spring training in early June. Local short tours take place during that period, and the corps departs for their national tour in the middle of July. The tour covers 10,000 miles across a dozen states, and culminates in the Drum Corps International World Championships the second week of August. The corps will perform more than 20 times between the end of June the second Saturday of August. The FSM must be adept at communication and be able to problem solve in an ever-changing environment. Organized individuals with attention to detail are preferred. Ideally, candidates will have an understanding of the DCI activity, and be able to commit to our rehearsal camps, spring training, and tour -- through the second Saturday of August. This position can be shared by multiple individuals.
