We are specifically looking for a talented someone to manage our kitchen, and a couple outgoing personalities to serve, shuck, pour, clean, learn, fold, fill, count, smile, and above all else, contribute their fine skills to our establishment. 

Seasonal workers need to be available Memorial Day - Labor Day minimum, with the opportunity to start as early as May 1st and work through the end of October. (Potential year-round work available).  

We provide an evenly split tip pool between the FOH and BOH staff.

  • Food Prep & Line Cook

    Friday Harbor
    $18.00 - $18.00 / hour + tips

    We are looking for experienced or teachable folks to work on a fast pace, but simple, 2-3 person kitchen line. Get that mini-adrenaline rush while we work as a small cohesive team to deliver a great food experience for our patrons out front. Shifts are not ridiculously long, and you'll work the same days every week so you can make other plans for your days off well in advance. Tips are shared evening between the front and back of house, making your roll essential and potentially quite lucrative given the small size of our team.

    We are located steps off the ferry in the heart of Friday Harbor. We've been open for 2 seasons under the name Picnik and have developed a great local following as well as a tourist base via great reviews. We are only looking to hire folks who are going to have a good attitude, treat the rest of the team with respect, show up for ALL of their shifts, and not through any temper tantrums. You will report to the Kitchen manager who will slot you for food prep (midday to evening), or line shifts (afternoon - close). Affordable housing is available in town if desired. 

    • Previous Kitchen Experience is a plus, but if you are a highly teachable person and learn quickly, we're happy to train you. 
    • Ability to work with a team, perseverance, and generally up-beat attitude is the most important to us. 
    • Must be able and willing to work with shellfish.
    • We ask that when you take this job, you commit and not put our small business in jeopardy, by thinking you can try it out and quit if you don't like it. (That's the kind of teammate we are not looking for)
    • Character or work References (2) required for application

  • Server

    Front of House
    Friday Harbor
    $18.00 - $18.00 / hour + tips

    Calling all extroverts! We are looking for friendly go-getters looking to have a great time while meeting half the island through our little establishment. Want to get plugged into the community where you are moving? Working in a restaurant is a great way to do it.  Joining our team means you'll get the opportunity to serve mostly great folks, and shuck oysters, pour drinks & taste new wines (if over 21), clean some dishes, and enjoy a fun and challenging shift of serving both tourists and locals in a fast-paced environment. You'll get to start each shift with a coffee or non-coffee bevie of choice from Rip Tide next door, and a standing invitation to beach cookouts throughout the summer season. 

    • Previous restaurant experience needed 
    • Previous serving experience is preferred, but if you've been a host, busser, or other support we are open to giving you a shot. 
    • Character or work references required (2) with application

    Must be available June 20th - September 16th.
