Join our hands-on work-study program in a retreat-like Buddhist community. Learn organic gardening, food preservation, and cooking while living simply and intentionally with like-minded people.
What You’ll Do:
Work alongside our head gardener growing vegetables and herbs
Help with cooking, preserving, and kitchen work
Support sacred art projects and community upkeep
Participate in Buddhist classes and practices
What You’ll Get:
Free vegetarian meals and beverages
Free shared housing (1 roommate) with large outdoor covered porch
$200 monthly stipend ($300 after 1 year)
Free Wi-Fi and domestic calls
Skill training and meaningful work experience

What You’ll Need:
Strong body and willing spirit – on feet all day, lifting, kneeling, bending daily, growing food is hard work!
Ability to use basic tools and gardening equipment
Open mind, commitment, and teamwork
Details:
Minimum stay: 6 months (prefer full season of 8 months)
Start: anytime in May, June or July 2025
Located at Odiyan, a Tibetan Buddhist- based community in Northern California
