Supports the Controller and Assistant Controller with day-to-day execution of general ledger impacted processes, including support to members and guests as they work with and understand these processes. Performs accounting functions specifically in the areas of account balancing, ledger reconciliation, reporting and discrepancy resolution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.
Organize, secure, and maintain all files, records, cash and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures.
Record, store, access, and/or analyze computerized financial information.
Classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals, ledgers, and/or computers.
Prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables.
Complete period-end closing procedures and reports as specified.
Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements according to company procedures.
Follow-up and resolve past due accounts and vendor invoices until payment in full is received or resolved.
Prepare daily consolidated deposits of cash received by all cash handling employees.
Document, maintain, communicate, and act upon all Cash Variances.
Assist with projects and analysis as required

Qualifications

SKILLS:
Ability to organize tasks and meet deadlines
Proficient in use of MS Excel, and MS Access, MS Word, or similar software
Ability to create and/or improve processes
Ability to work well with a diverse team
Ability to use calculator with reasonable speed and accuracy
Ability to analyze reports and transfer data to other programs
Ability to read, write and speak English and to communicate effectively
Ability to sit in one place for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and carry a 20-pound box
Education and/or Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
Experience: 2-5 years of accounting experience preferred
Licenses or Certificates: None

Attendance, Appearance and Conduct:
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Ocean Reef Club from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry and report deadlines, associate may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of the Club and report deadlines.
Proper grooming is required by all associates and is described in detail in the Associates Handbook. Associates should review this policy and make sure that at all times they present themselves for shifts looking clean, neat and professional.
As a condition of employment, all associates agree to fully comply with Ocean Reef Club rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of Club facilities. Associates who violate Club rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
