We are seeking personable, competent, and energetic individuals with strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to join the Northern Outdoors team at our Resort Center in The Forks, Maine. A neat appearance and outgoing personality is an absolute must. Full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions available now in the restaurant and the office. The Kennebec River Brewery and Resort amenities open on May 7th! 

Our Maine brewpub serves up fresh food daily and has a rainbow of beers on tap from our on-site brewery, launched in 1996. Kennebec River Brewery was one of the earliest breweries in Maine and is the only Maine Beer Trail destination at an Adventure Resort.

Our patrons fuel up on Carrabassett Coffee and a Hiker’s Breakfast before a day on the river or the trails, and kick back after their adventures with our hand-crafted brews and our well-known Woodsman Burger.

  • Front of House Manager

    The Front of the House Manager is projected to work a 5-day work week, based on 40-hours per week, for 46 weeks per year. (We are typically closed the first three weeks of December and the first three weeks of April). There will be times this position will require  more than this in order to fulfill the requirements. You are in charge of your own schedule and will be encouraged to take time off during slower times of the year. The Front of House Manager is expected to be on duty at peak times, such as Friday and Saturday nights when we are open, special occasions, events, etc.

    Due to the global pandemic Northern Outdoors has ensured all CDC Guidelines and State mandates are followed, this position is significant in ensuring these practices and the health and safety of our guests are top priority.  

    The Manager will be responsible for all operational aspects of the restaurant, bar and lounge Front of House including hiring, training, scheduling, disciplining and firing of staff.

    The Food and Beverage Team will report directly to the president of the company. The manager will meet with the owners at least one time per month to discuss departmental operations and financial performance. 

    The Manager will be in charge of all administrative duties including, but not limited to departmental reporting, getting accurate payroll data to the Controller and operational policies. 

    Working in partnership with security personnel to oversee operations of the lodge during the evening, when we have entertainment and to ensure all closing and lockup procedures are followed thoroughly.

  • Server

    Restaurant Brew Pub
    The Forks
    $6.08 / hour + tips

    Northern Outdoors is looking for outgoing, charismatic, waitstaff with excellent customer service skills for our high volume restaurant and pub. Being well-organized with the ability to take accurate food and beverage orders while operating a point-of-sale system is required for this position. 

    Servers provide table service within our large lodge as well as the outdoor dinning deck and patio. Northern Outdoors has it's own Kennebec River Brewery as well as full bar service.

    You will be greeting customers as they are seated at the table and ensuring they have proper menus, utensils and napkins as well as answering their questions on the menu and resort itself. 

    This position will be working with a team of others to ensure our patrons have a brilliant dining experience. 

    Other duties include, but not limited to, assisting with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware.

  • Host

    Restaurant Brew Pub
    The Forks
    $12.15 / hour + tips

    The position of Host at Kennebec River Brew Pub is a pivotal position offering the first glimpse into our special resort and restaurant as patrons walk through the door! 

    You will be responsible for greeting guests with upstanding customer service, seating them, and then providing accurate details on the floor plan and seating to the servers and bartenders on duty. 

    You will also be responsible for taking to-go orders and assisting the servers with restaurant tasks.

  • Bus Driver - Summer Rafting

    Come join the rafting fun!! Hiring full-time bus driver for summer rafting season. 

    Located in The Forks, ME, May through early October. 

    Must have Class B CDL with a School Bus or Passenger Endorsement.

    Eight hour days starting at $14 per hour.

  • Front Desk/Reservationist

    Full-Time Seasonal: May – Early October

    You will primarily work in front desk and retail sales functions in a busy and sometimes very fast paced lodge environment.  In this position, you will join our small team of Adventure Consultants assisting guests to plan and book their vacation stay at Northern Outdoors (whitewater rafting, snowmobiling, ATV's, hunting, hiking, relaxation). This position is detail oriented with a strong focus on sales and customer service. We require a neat appearance, positive attitude, outgoing personality, team-oriented, flexible schedule (days/nights & weekends), effective communication skills, an ability to multi-task and reliable transportation.  Job also involves going up/down stairs, walking, standing (possibly for prolonged periods of time) and being able to lift up to 30 lbs. Previous phone, customer service and computer skills are extremely helpful. Competitive pay and employee discounts (whitewater rafting / retail / food) are available.
