Employment Description – Dining Room Server

Restaurant Information:

Our resort offers two dining venues consisting of our fine dining restaurant The Strand Waterfront Dining & Wine Bar as well as the casual Poplar River Pub. Our venues define and showcase North Shore Cuisine creating unique experiences that compliment a visit to the area. Our culinary offerings are complimented by our expansive wine cellar offering over 1200 bottles of wine. We believe that dining is a key part of the guests vacation experience and we stive to make it a highlight of the trip to the North Shore.

Resort Information:

Lutsen Resort is Minnesota’s first and oldest resort and has been in continuation operation since 1885. Lutsen has been showcasing its picturesque location on the North Shore of Lake Superior for 135 years. Our resort features a private stone beach complete with red Adirondack chairs for viewing the lake that match our historic red Scandinavian lodge designed by renown architect Edwin Lundie. Exploring the grounds of Lutsen Resort also includes viewing the water falls of the Poplar River from our famous red covered bridges. The resort features a fine dining restaurant, a second casual pub, wedding and event facilities, spa and golf course complimented by 165 lodging units sleeping over 750 guests per night making it one of 2 of the largest resorts on the North Shore both owned by North Shore Resort Company which prides itself of being family owned and operated.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

· Studying and obtaining full knowledge of our training and procedural documents including our 24 steps of service; an enhanced version of the traditional 12 steps of service

· Learn and adopt our company’s “Standards of Service”

· Tending to our guests dining experience from the first greeting to the farewell in a manner that showcases 5-star service

· Tending to the non-service related daily, weekly and monthly tasks of the dining room in regards to cleanliness, room presentation, and care of fixtures and equipment

· Ensure that you are always showcasing your uniform and dress code in a professional manner

· Execution of immaculate beverage service

· Showcase a well-versed knowledge of wines and our current wine menu

Reporting Structure:

· This position reports directly to the Food & Beverage Director and management designees of the department
