Join the summer family of a historic dude ranch just outside Yellowstone National Park.

Nine Quarter Circle Ranch is looking for active, outdoor-oriented people who are interested in the hospitality industry.

The Nine Quarter Circle Dude Ranch located between Big Sky and West Yellowstone Montana, on the edge of the Yellowstone National Park. Truly nestled in the mountains, our staff spend a summer in a special and remote landscape.

About Nine Quarter Circle Ranch

If you enjoy nature and want to experience a summer in Montana, our ranch is a good choice for your summer employment. Please have no illusions…ranch work is hard work, but the rewards are too many to count!

You’ll make long-lasting friendships and gain experience that will do you well in the future years. Working as a team to provide the best guest experience possible is both fun and rewarding. Each employee is a very important part of our team. Working on our ranch, you will become part of our ranch family for the summer.

We encourage you to socialize with our guests. For those who have jobs dealing with our guests, friendliness, fun, and a helpful attitude go a long way. We count on you to join our weekly softball game and square dance as they are a great way to meet and get to know our guests.

The Employee Experience

At the Nine Quarter Circle Ranch, employees experience work without a commute, have meals provided, and spend their days nestled in Montana's mountains--some mornings you might even spot a grizzly bear or moose walking across the ranch.  Ranch work can require long days, but the experience employees gain at the NQCR is irreplaceable. The NQCR offers employees an opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of our fast-paced world and build relationships that truly do last a lifetime.

We offer employees the opportunity to horseback ride on days off during our guest week, and there are many hiking, biking, fishing and boating opportunities right out the front door. If you enjoy the outdoors, the NQCR is positioned perfectly for you.

Ideal Candidate

All of our ranch jobs provide an opportunity for you to meet new friends, develop new job skills, and discover new things about yourself and the area around you. If you have the ability to be flexible and act immediately as circumstances arise to support our guests and other staff members and you are genuinely friendly and not afraid of hard work, you may be the person for the Nine Quarter Circle Ranch. If so, we invite you to apply for one of the following available positions.  Many of our staff are currently enrolled in higher education and some degrees require internships.  We are willing to work with staff to help fulfill internship requirements if employees want to pursue that route.

Room and Board

Men live in 2-3 person cabins and have a shared bathroom area nearby. Women have a bunkhouse that has an attached bathhouse.  Men and women have a shared common area.

Wi-Fi is available in designated areas, including housing, and staff have access to a coin-op laundry facility onsite.

All meals are provided.

Employee Perks

All positions are paid monthly, on the first of each month and include room and board. All positions have 1.5 assigned days off per week.  Staff can join guests on horseback rides on their days off.

Our ranch is located in the heart of the Madison Range. On days off, employees can easily enjoy hiking, fishing, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. We're also nearby the town of Big Sky and Bozeman, which have many restaurants and shops to explore.

Getting Here and Getting Around

We are 58 miles south of Bozeman, MT, and are 35 miles from West Yellowstone, MT, and five miles west on a gravel road located off from U.S. 191.

If you plan to arrive by air or bus, we will meet you in either Bozeman or West Yellowstone, MT, and bring you to the ranch. Having your own vehicle is a good idea for non-ranch activities, especially if you'd like to experience Yellowstone on your time off.

For Fun

Horseback riding is available on your day off (except Sundays), and of course, there are miles of back-country hiking trails right out the ranch door and Yellowstone National Park just down the road!

Bozeman is a little over an hour from the ranch with great restaurants, stores, hiking, biking, and hot springing. Big Sky is only about half an hour away.

Softball games and square dances with our guests are mandatory but fun, too.
