About Mountain High Pizza Pie LLC
Established in 2003, Mountain High has always been a place where working hard as a team, while still having fun and treating each with respect is our goal. When employees are happy, appreciated and hard-working, it overflows to create great experiences for our customers.
At the end of Main Street sits our purple pizzeria, Mountain High Pizza Pie. Our menu is a collaboration of authentic family recipes made with only the freshest ingredients. We take pride in creating our own sauces, meats, bread, and dough daily to develop a distinctive combination of pizzas, flatbreads, salads, and specialty items. Vegetables and herbs from our garden are used to create unique soups and specials. Locally harvested, in season ingredients, like Fiddle-Head Ferns, Rhubarb, and Salmon, are utilized to create one of a kind dishes that can't be found anywhere else!
Our Beer Garden is an outdoor deck with seating for 200, not to mention inside seating for year round fun. With a bar and seating outside, you get the opportunity to work outdoors while overlooking Main Street. We serve a variety of rotating local craft beers & micro-brews. All summer we are proud to host free, live music on our patio to provide a lively yet laid -back experience for customers and employees alike.
Our business is heavily influenced by seasonal tourism, which is mainly from being so close to North America's tallest peak Mt. Mckinley (Denali). We also receive tourists traveling across Alaska by RV & car, tour groups and from cruise ships. May-September our tiny town is overflowing with tourists. Our crew is comprised of year-round locals, but we rely heavily on our “seasonal individuals” -- adventurous individuals drawn to the magic of Talkeetna, its history, great beer, and incredible food!
The Employee Experience
Providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner we are a non-stop machine. When the train and the tour buses from surrounding lodges come to town a few times a day, they drop off hundreds of people that keep us busy. When we have our weekends and special mid-week events with live bands from all around, our decks are overflowing with diners and locals alike. Make new connections and life-long friendships with your co-workers while making money and having fun. Want to be proud of where you work and the food and experience that we create?!
We poisoned a president and elected a cat mayor, so yes, you should definitely visit!
Tucked between Alaska’s biggest city and North America’s tallest peak, you’ll find our small town of Talkeetna, a place known as both the gateway to Alaska’s most famous National Park and for the nearly 20-year reign of our most recently departed mayor, Stubbs the Cat. Come take advantage of all of the outdoor activities such as hiking, rafting, fishing, ziplining, camping and so much more. Stay for the community of artists, musicians, and craftspeople who give our town its truly vibrant charm (the high chance of seeing a moose casually roaming the main street is another big draw).
If you're a history buff, you won't be disappointed! With the area chosen as a district headquarters for the Alaska Railroad, some of the buildings from the 1900s are still in use today. Not to mention the 1000's of climbers that use Talkeetna as the base to summit Denali.
We also have 20+ hours of daylight in the summer so there's plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and our one-of-a-kind panoramic views - incomparable to anywhere else in North America. If you stay until September, there's even a chance of seeing the Northern Lights put on a show just for you!
Our season is a short one, full of bustling tourists and fast-paced days, all-the-while in the center of Alaska's playground. While being in Alaska, it's undeniable to want to explore and do as much as you can, but the summer is also the season to make your money. We are looking for individuals focused and committed to our team during these busy months. Our goal is to have set schedules and maintain consistency so you can plan for your Alaska experience and be equally focused on creating a great experience for our guests.
You will work in a fast-paced environment where customer service is our goal! We are searching for patient, even-tempered, friendly and warm individuals who care about giving our customers a unique, great experience.
We aim to have a drama-free work environment, with individuals able to take direction, willing to be challenged, dependable and enthusiastic.
Join our team, learn some new skills and contribute new ideas to help us become the most efficient and productive team we can be. Take pride in a team that we call family.
