Montecito-Sequoia Lodge is a rustic resort destination nestled between Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks in Central California. We are a lodge which also includes special amenities for guests, such as 3 buffet meals a day, 24 hour access to food, a small lake, and activities to participate in.

Montecito-Sequoia Lodge is located in Sequoia National Forest, just minutes from Sequoia National Park, and have been privately owned since 1963. Our mission is to "make learning fun" for our guests, as well as provide a hospitable stay while visiting the parks. We are located along highway 198, which can be accessed by highway 180 East, a total drive of 1 hour and 15 minutes from Fresno, California. Our elevation is approximately 7,200ft and offers majestic views of the Sierra-Nevada mountain range.

Program counselors run the activities for guests, which change based on the season. Prior experience with the following activities is not required, but what is important, is the ability to work with people of all ages, especially kids. Most of the sports and activities can be taught on site. Fall activities may include archery, air riflery, kids club, guided hikes, and arts & crafts.

When the Winter comes and we get at least two feet of snow, we also offer: cross-country ski lessons, snowboard lessons, and guided snowshoe hikes. We also look for staff who can offer additional activities such as guitar lessons, outdoor education, or some kind of specific craft or skill. Age 21 and over is preferred but not required. Certification such as Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, or CPR/AED is also preferred but not required.

Ability to work well with kids and adults is MORE important than skills or experience with the activities themselves. Pay is hourly, and your two days off will occur during the weekdays (as the weekends are all hands on deck with higher guest numbers). If we do not have guests who participate in activities, program staff will help out other departments such as housekeeping or hospitality. Room and board fees are taken out of your check automatically, so carrying around money is not necessary. You will be living in staff housing on-site.
