Located in the Smoky Mountains, Fontana Village is in an area rich in history and beauty, Fontana Village is a great place to get away and get back to nature. Fontana Village is thrilled to announce the creation of a new and exciting Experiential Outdoor Educational Program. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Director of this program. If you are passionate about outdoor education, possess strong leadership skills, and have a vision for creating memorable experiences for participants, this position is perfect for you.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive experiential outdoor education program, catering to a diverse range of participants including students, families, and corporate groups.
• Design and deliver engaging and educational activities that promote learning, teamwork, personal development, and environmental stewardship.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the program, including scheduling, logistics, and participant safety.
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of instructors and support staff to ensure the smooth execution of program activities.
• Collaborate with local schools, universities, and community organizations to establish partnerships and promote the program.
• Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring financial sustainability and growth.
• Conduct regular evaluations and assessments to measure the program's effectiveness and make necessary improvements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in outdoor education, environmental studies, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing experiential outdoor education programs.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with participants, staff, and external partners.
• Extensive knowledge of outdoor education principles, risk management, and safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in program evaluation and data analysis to measure program impact.
• Current certification in wilderness first aid and CPR.
