Miller’s Landing Event Manager will be responsible for every aspect of an event at our facility, from booking activities to evaluating success afterwards. Our Event Manager must be well-organized and competent in planning and logistics. Communication skills, attention to detail, and a dose of enthusiasm and passion for the job are cornerstones of our values and success. The goal is to work closely with our Management Team to organize unforgettable events that will ensure the satisfaction of our guests and facilitate the success of their event, including return business.  


  • Maintain a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events, and work with the Office Manager and guests to understand requirements for each event
  • Contact guests spending more than $7,500 at Millers Landing, coordinating activities to make sure their stay goes as planned 
  • Plan event(s) with attention to financial and time constraints
  • Provide recommendations for vendors (catering, decorators, musicians etc.) based on quality and cost related to the event
  • Manage all event operations (preparing venue, activities, assisting with details, etc.)
  • Develop marketing plan for event facility; strategize coordination of social media, web presence, stakeholder partnerships
  • Plan for potential scenarios, oversee event happenings, and act quickly to resolve problems
  • Evaluate event’s success and submit reports
  • Create reliable financial reports and collect payments on time

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as event coordinator or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience with organizing successful events and coordinating with vendors
  • Proficient in MS Office, accounting, and budgeting software
  • Excellent customer management skills
  • Knowledge of basic sales and marketing practices
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
  • Well-organized with multi-tasking skills and success working with a team
  • Able to handle stress and remain calm in stressful situations
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Degree in hospitality management, public relations or relevant field is preferred
