  • Maintenance Engineer

    Shepherdsville
    up to $11.00 / hour

    The Maintenance Engineer (ME) is responsible for the general maintenance, operation and upkeep of the campground buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds. They will commonly work with a team to ensure all aspects of the campground are clean, safe, and well-maintained and in good working order. The ME will use technical skills to troubleshoot and repair machinery, electrical systems, and other equipment. They also use technical skills to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and other documents related to their work. The ME will perform general carpentry, electrical, painting, and plumbing work and install new fixtures, equipment, and appliances as needed. They are also responsible for conducting the preventative maintenance program, handling guest requests and other work orders as assigned in a safe and efficient manner.

    Maintenance Engineering Lead or Property Engineer

    SPECIFIC DUTIES

    • Perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance/repairs to campground buildings, facilities, equipment, vehicles, and grounds as directed by the engineering supervisor.
    • Comply with all KOA, federal, state, and local safety programs by adhering to established guidelines in the operation and storage of various equipment, tools and chemicals.
    • Maintain compliance with preventative maintenance program through regular inspection of facilities, buildings, cabins, vehicles, and equipment.
    • Inspecting equipment to ensure proper functioning of heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, electrical systems, etc.
    • Troubleshooting problems with equipment to determine the cause of failure and determine the best solution for repair or replacement.
    • Installing new fixtures, equipment, and appliances as needed.
    • Safe operation of swimming pool and aquatic water features by maintaining proper pool chemistry while safely handling all pool chemicals.
    • Approach all encounters with guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
    • Prioritize tasks based upon importance and urgency with conscious planning and thoughtful decision making.
    • Comfortable in high-pressure and fast paced situations while maintaining composure and objectivity.
    • Maintain property by following the quality assurance manual.
    • Foster a work environment that maximizes employee involvement, morale and is dedicated to delivering KOAs Culture, Mission, Values and Goals.

    EXPECTED RESULTS

    • Campground buildings, facilities, and grounds are well maintained and fully operational.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing equipment and installation
    • Basic knowledge of chemical properties, handling and usage
    • Basic knowledge of propane and gasoline dispensing
    • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
    • Capable of working independently and as part of a team

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, lift and carry 25 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds regularly.
    • Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
    • Must be able to operate various loud and vibrating maintenance tools and equipment
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
    • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and move safely over uneven terrain.
    • Able to work inside and outdoors and in various climates


    COMPENSATION
    * Hourly Rate: $11
    * On-call availability, Night Host
    * Full benefits package available after 60 days (if working 32 hrs. weekly or greater)
    * Back-In FHU, 30/50 AMP Site
    * Site Rent: $80.55 per pay period for single or $40.27 per pay period of couple sharing rent (both working)

  • Guest Service Representative

    Shepherdsville
    $9.00 - $11.00 / hour

    The Guest Service Representative (GSR) is responsible for providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests prior to arrival and throughout their stay.  They will accommodate campground guests by registering, issuing keys, keeping proper record of occupied sites, making and confirming reservations and collecting payments. The GSR will help maintain a clean, well-stocked and organized store.

    REPORTS TO

    Guest Services Lead, Guest Experience Supervisor and/or Assistant General Manager

    SPECIFIC DUTIES

    • Greet and welcome all guests approaching the front desk in accordance with KOA standards.
    • Resolve guest concerns and complaints in a thoughtful manner while maintaining campground standards.
    • Prepare reports as required, relating to shift check-list, and down-time reports.
    • Answer inquiries from guests regarding campground amenities and local attractions.
    • Fully comprehend and be able to operate all relevant aspects of the campground property management system.
    • Ensure logging and delivery of all messages, packages and mail in a timely and professional manner.
    • Be familiar with all in-house groups.
    • Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow associates and other departments within the campground and utilize proper two-way radio etiquette at all times.
    • Oversee and ensure that all guests are checked in/out in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner.
    • Adhere to policies regarding handling of cash drawer while following specific KOA cash and credit card handling procedures.
    • Notify management of any pertinent information related to daily shift activities.
    • Maintain high standards of professionalism, customer service, quality and cleanliness.
    • Maintain store displays and inventory control as directed, and communicate ideas and guest feedback.
    • Increase revenues through up-selling strategies and profitability of ancillary income.
    • Maintain health standards and ensure guests and team members are in a safe and secure environment.
    • Foster a work environment that maximizes employee involvement, morale and is dedicated to delivering KOAs Culture, Mission, Values and Goals.

  • Housekeeper

    Shepherdsville
    up to $11.00 / hour

    Housekeepers are responsible for the overall cleanliness of the campground including the public space areas and all accommodations according to standards.  All areas should be efficiently cleaned within the allotted times while providing great guest service.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES

    • Perform the daily, weekly and monthly cleaning programs for specific buildings and facilities as outlined by immediate supervisor or manager.
    • Use appropriate cleaning chemicals on appropriate items and only as trained. Do not mix chemicals together or use straight out of original bottle.  Must use appropriate safety measures such as gloves.
    • Be aware of blood borne pathogen procedures and contact supervisor when needed.
    • Bring all lost and found items to main office with cabin number and date on them. If it is something valuable, it needs to be given directly to a housekeeping supervisor to ensure it is locked up immediately.
    • Provide excellent and friendly guest service by being attentive, responsive and helpful to all guests needs.  Greet the guests at every opportunity by demonstrating a friendly welcome. 
    • Present a positive impression with a well-groomed appearance, smiles and proper KOA uniform and name tag.
    • Submit a list of supplies (i.e., toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, cleaning supplies and equipment, etc.) that need to be replenished on an as-needed basis to your immediate supervisor or manager.
    • Report all broken or damaged items within all KOA buildings, facilities and premises via a maintenance slip.
    • Report all customer problems, requests or complaints to campground manager or your supervisor and follow-up to resolve the issue if possible.

    • Very clean and well-maintained campground buildings that are completed in an efficient timely manner.
    • Achieve Net Promotor Score that reflects satisfied happy guests as related to the cleanliness of the campground and attentiveness of housekeeping staff.
    • Friendly greeting, smiles and professional attitude dedicated to serving the needs of our guests.
    • An attitude that demonstrates cooperation and team spirit with all staff members.
    • Timely reporting of all guest concerns and requests, as well as, follow-up and corrective action on the areas under the team member’s capabilities.
    • Using safe work practices to avoid accidents of both guests and team members. 


    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must be able to operate a golf cart
    • Ability to work under wet and slippery conditions
